    Ph.D. Admission Notice for 2023-24

    (Under Visvesvaraya Ph.D. scheme for Electronics


    and IT: Phase-II)

    Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) proudly announces that
    the Institute has been selected as one of the Centre for prestigious Visvesvaraya Ph.D.
    Scheme for Electronics and IT: Phase-II supported by Ministry of Electronics &
    Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India.

    Total numbers of available fellowships under this scheme is 03 (Three). This fellowship is
    applicable for full-time Ph.D. Scholars. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for
    admission to Ph.D. programme on Full Time basis for the Academic Session 2023-24 in the
    following Departments under the ‘Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT:

    procedure, Ph.D. Entrance examination and other details.

    The major features of the scheme for the full-time scholars are given below:

     Fellowship: Rs. 38,750/- per month in 1 and 2 year and @Rs. 43,750 per month in
    rd th th
    3 ,4 and 5 years of Ph.D. (support till Ph.D. completion or 5 years whichever is
    earlier).
     Reimbursement of Rent (RoR): This component is linked with the fellowship of Ph.D.
    Candidate. The rate of RoR is 24%, 16% & 8% (of fellowship) for X, Y & Z class
    cities/towns respectively. The classification of the cities is as per the notification issued
    by the Ministry of Finance for the reimbursement of HRA.
     Research contingency Grant Support: An amount of Rs. 1,20,000/Year for Full-time
    PhD candidate.
     Support for attending International conferences: One-time Support up to Rs. 1.5
    lakhs for Full- time PhD candidate.

     Visit to Labs abroad: Only the selected candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria based
    on the guidelines to be provided in due course will be supported.

    Selection Process for Admission in Visvesvaraya Ph.D. scheme:


    The candidates will be selected under Visvesvaraya Ph.D. scheme based on their performance
    in the written test and/or interview.
    All the other dates / details mentioned in the RGNIYD Ph.D. advertisement dt.18.08.2023
    in (https://www.rgniyd.gov.in/?q=content/phd-admission-notification-2023-2024) are
    applicable for this Visvesvaraya Ph.D. scheme.
