Three Realms of the Cosmos and Their Deities


Bhumi or the earth is considered as a
‘loka,’ a place for doing karma or VEDas
actions and enjoy their fruits. Hence, it
is this earth with all its living beings,
that has been designated as

‘bhuloka.’ VEDAS
Bhumi is the goddess of earth in Hinduism. She is shown
as a beautiful woman sitting on a lotus. She plays major
role in the Hindu epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.
