RE: 2024 GRADE 8-11 FINAL EXAMINATIONSTIME TABLE

1. This Circular intends to give guidance and a framework on :
1.1. Administration of Provincial Standardised Examinations (mediation of LTA 22 of 2024).
1.2. Administration of GEC and provincial standardised Examination Grade 9 (mediation of LTA 22 of 2024).
1.3. District Standardised Examinations Grade 8-11.
2. Provincial Standardised Examinations in November 2024 will be written in selected subjects in accordance with LTA 22 of 2024 (ANNEXURE A TO D).
These subjects were selected based on the criteria for the Inclusive basket and target set in the Annual Performance Plan.
3. The Grade 9 time table accommodates both the GEC and Provincial Standardised Examination, as outlined in ANNEXURE B.
4. As part of performance enhancement strategy, the district will provide schools with common standardized question papers (Set by selected teachers in
different clusters) for the selected subjects in Grade 8-11. Nevertheless, schools remain responsible for setting papers in subjects not covered in this timetable
and Pre & Post-moderation by DHs and verification by subject advisors must be adhered to.
5. In instances where schools choose not to participate in the provincial and district examinations, the following process must be followed:
5.1. Inform the District in writing.
5.2.
Question papers must be moderated and approved by the Subject Advisor at least TWO weeks before the examination date.
6. Distribution of Papers:
Grade 9 GEC PAPERS:
o Question papers will be delivered by the Examination and Assessment Directorate to GEC pilot schools on the day of the Examination.

Grade 8 and 9 PROVINCIAL AND DISTRICT PAPERS:

o All provincial and District papers will be emailed to schools no later than two working days before the examination date. For instance, papers

written on Monday, November 11 , will be sent electronically to schools on or before Thursday, November 7 .
o Papers will be password protected. The password will be sent to principals two working days before the examination date, at 8 am.

Grade 10 and 11 PROVINCIAL AND DISTRICT PAPERS:

o All provincial and District papers will be emailed to schools no later than one working days before the examination date. For instance, papers

written on Monday, November 11 , will be sent electronically to schools on or before Friday, November 8 .
o Papers will be password protected. The password will be sent to principals one working days before the examination date, at 8 am.
