Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna (PMMVY).

Cost sharing ration 90:10 between Central Government and State Government

Objective of PMMVY

i) Providing partial compensation for the wage loss in terms of cash incentives so that the
women can take adequate rest before and after delivery of the first living child.
ii) The cash incentive provided would lead to improved health seeking behaviour amongst
the pregnant women and lactating mothers.

Incentive to the Beneficiaries

Under PMMVY, a cash incentive of Rs 5,000/- would be provided directly in


the account of Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers for first living child subject to fulfilling
specific conditions relating to maternal and child health

Target Beneficiaries

i. All Pregnant Women and Lactating Mothers(PW&LM), excluding PW&LM who are in
regular employment with the Centre Government or State Governments or PSUs or those
who are in receipt of similar benefits under any law for the time being in force.
ii. All eligible PW&LM who have their pregnancy on or after 01-01-2017 for first child in
family.

Conditionalities and Instalments

PW&LM shall receive cash benefit of Rs. 5,000/- in three instalments.

Instalment Conditions Amount (in Rs.)


First Instalment Early registration of pregnancy 1,000/-
Second Instalment Received at least one ANC (can be Claimed after 2,000/-
six months of pregnancy)
Third Instalment Child birth is registered and child has received first cycle
2,000/-

cycle of vaccination.

Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India has evaluated


the performance of the various States& UTs on the basis of performance as on 31-
08-2018. Himachal Pradesh was adjudged best performing State by achieving
147% target allotted. Ministry of WCD, GOI has celebrated Matru Vandana
Saptah from 1st to 7th September,2018 across the country to celebrate 1st
anniversary of the scheme. Concluding ceremony of Matru Vandana Saptah was
organized at Dehradun on 7-9-2018 by GOI. In the ceremony State was awarded
for best performing State for implementing PMMVY. Bilaspur District of the
State was also awarded for best performing District in the Northern Region.
