About Project

FedEx Ground is a one of Portfolio of FedEx for Guaranteed day-definite delivery within Canada and
the United States at a cost savings. Uses a large fleet of trucks which are owned by the independent
owner/operators and drivers are independent contractors who control individual delivery routes and
territories.

FedEx Ground is currently implementing its Common Asset Management solution initiative using
Maximo. This will replace the existing Legacy Asset Management System VMS. Maximo is going to be a
core Application for Asset Management and integrated with other systems.

Job responsibilities

As an Application Architect, I am responsible for:

 Leading the Team of 17 members for Designing, Implementation, and Maintenance


of Maximo Application for FedEx Ground.
 Providing Technical Leadership on Maximo application by applying Proof of
Concepts and integrating user feedback.

 Conducts sessions with Business to understand current process and requirements


providing a detailed design documented solutions.

 Works with other Architects to create logical architecture and design Integrations

 Works in line with Development team, Testing team and other Applications teams
for a strategic solution
 Provide Maximo subject matter expertise in terms of functional
design/configuration and Technical architecture.

 Collaborate with Consultants, Developers and other subject matter experts across

About Project

Using Maximo Asset Management System, client has gain real time visibility into the country’s asset
usage to better govern and manage lifecycle of roads and Drainage networks as well as maintain and
improve their performance.
Users can view Assets in Maximo using Geo Spatial map, which is integrated with ArcGIS. Oracle ERP is
the master of Inventory and has Integration with Maximo using Maximo Oracle ERP Adapter.
Customer Complaints are raised through the MS Dynamics system and transferred to Maximo using
REST API. Maximo has integration with SCADA for Roads Asset and Work Order process is automated
based on values sent by SCADA.

Drainage department uses Maximo for:

Work Management process to handle External Flooding


Maintenance of Sewer system
Preventive Maintenance for Pumping station Assets
Complaints from Customer such as missing Manhole cover

Roads department uses Maximo for:

Work Management of Ashghal Roads asset such as Streetlight, Directional signs


Preventive Maintenance of Roads asset
Third Party claims for Insurance if damage happens on Ashghal Asset

Asset, System has integration with SAP using SAP BI Adapter for Location, Financial
records. South East region uses Maximo 6 and it is integrated with Sun System which
financial system Application of Infor. The Integration is customized using J2EE
