INTRODUCTION

Micro-Bio (Ireland) Ltd. operates a membrane-cell Chlor-alkali electrolysis plant producing Hydrochloric
Acid 35-38%, Sodium Hydroxide 29-34% and Sodium Hypochlorite 14-16%. Dilutions of each of these
products, using Purified Water, can be supplied from 0.01N (0.01M) right through the concentration range.
The electrolysis process is entirely inorganic utilising Salt (Sodium Chloride) and Water to produce each of
the products. Production is continuous and all equipment used in manufacture, storage, filling and delivery
is dedicated to one particular product only.

BRINE PRODUCTION
The Salt used for Brine production is of a very high purity and is known as undried vacuum salt. In
combination with Purified water a concentrated brine solution is produced which can then be diluted to
the required concentration again using Purified Water. Brine is produced for supply to a wide variety of
users.
Production is located at a single manufacturing site in Fermoy, Co. Cork, Ireland.

STABILITY SUMMARY

Sodium Chloride Brine is inorganic being composed of a solution of Sodium Chloride in deionised water.
The material essentially has an infinite shelf-life once stored in a proper manner. It is not subjected to any
form of decomposition or ageing.
Micro-Bio has assigned a two year shelf-life to the material but this is in reality a suggested re-test period
so that the user can make their own decision regarding use.
