ORGANIZATIONAL EXPERIENCE

TATA TECHNOLOGIES LTD. Pune, Maharashtra

Senior Design Engineer | Chassis - SUSPENSION December 2023–Present

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Design and develop suspension parts, including subframes, control arms, multi-links, and engine guards for passenger
vehicles in TML chassis projects.
 Conduct packaging studies and develop layouts for front/rear suspensions parts.
 Implement design changes through PLM (Teamcenter).
 Create detailed 3D CAD models considering tolerance stack-up, DFA, DFM, and packaging constraints in Creo parametric.
 Oversee parts like Control arms, subframes, stone guard and multi-links.
 Submit DFA, DFS, DFM, and DFMEA requests in the DPDS portal, and support DVP, DFMEA studies, and RFQ processes.
 Coordinate with CAE, VI, AQ, and CE teams for CAE analysis, DMU, and physical test validation. Collaborate with proto
agencies and suppliers during development, conduct TRSO and TKO signoffs, and address assembly line queries.
 Create part indent request through PLM (Teamcenter) for proto-validation.
 Prepare DFMEA and review with Cross-Functional Teams (CFT) to conduct risk analysis.
 Manage project data, release processes, and test requests in PLM (Teamcenter).
 Study existing parts and evaluate VAVE cost reduction ideas to optimize designs.
 Choose materials based on load, application, and current trends. Design parts in sheet metal, forging, casting, and plastic
parts.
 Benchmark and study competition parts through A2Mac and Teardown workshops to find new ideas for design
optimization.

VIKRANT AUTO SUSPENSIONS Halol, Gujarat

Senior Design Engineer | Product Engineering October 2016 - December 2023

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Design semi-elliptical and parabolic leaf springs for vehicles using calculations as per customer needs.
 Work with cross-functional teams to develop leaf springs.
 Generate and implement VAVE ideas to achieve significant cost savings.
 Select materials and processes for leaf springs that ensure strength, fatigue resistance, and cost-efficiency
 Generate 3D CAD and detailed drawings, ensuring design accuracy.
 Perform FEA simulations using Ansys to optimize structural integrity and performance of the design.
 Perform DVP tests to validate design durability, analyze failures, and enhance design reliability.
 Prepare detailed design documentation (APQP, BOM, DFA-DFM, DFMEA, DVP, etc…). Prepare and implement lessons
learnt from various projects.
 Support manufacturing, procurement, assembly, and quality teams, resolving product design issues.
 Evaluate and manage design change and other engineering change through change management process.
 Benchmark and reverse-engineer OEM and export components to integrate the latest trends.
HIGHLIGHTS & CONTRIBUTION:
 Optimized leaf spring designs with VAVE ideas, reducing costs for M&M Bolero, Force Motors Travellers, and export
springs.
 Converted semi-elliptical to parabolic leaf springs for MTBD ICV and HCV projects, M&M Bolero, and exports, achieving
significant weight and cost reductions.
 Implemented General Tolerance Specification (GTS) in export drawings, eliminating ambiguity and achieving "Zero NC"
certification.
 Improved FEA simulation with ANSYS for better real-time test correlation and created SOPs to standardize the
methodology.
 Developed SOPs for strain gauge testing to better correlate and validate CAE results with actual tests.
 Created a calculation sheet to improve drawing accuracy, costing, and optimize raw material use.
 Created a calculation sheet for shot peening camber loss using SAE guidelines, improving sample development FTR rate.
 Standardized components across Vikrant and Moflex, reducing variety by 20%.
 Successfully implemented a Quality Management System (QMS) procedure in compliance with IATF 16949 requirements,
streamlining and enhancing design activities.
