ASSESSMENT DETAILS:
1. Presentation – 20%

A: Objective
The psychological tests administrations, scoring, and interpretations are the important skills that
has to be mastered by all clinical psychologists. The types of psychological assessments
include cognitive, neuropsychological, behavioural and/or adaptive behavioural, emotional, and
mental status examinations.

B: Instruction
• This is an individual assignment.
• In this assignment, the student will be assigned two psychological assessments. The
student is required to pair with a group mate to administer the psychological assessment.
The administration of the tests should be 45- to 60-minutes.
• The administration and scoring procedure should be video recorded.
• Then, students are required to prepare a presentation which includes a pre-recorded role-
play video of a psychological assessment administration and scoring. This presentation
should also be recorded and submitted to TIMeS.
• Note: Students are required to submit a copy of the scoring booklet and/or response
booklet to be co-marked by another assigned batchmate.
• Slots for the usage of the assessment tools will be provided in a link in TIMeS.

• The content of the recorded presentation (entire duration: 20-25 minutes):


a.) Introduction (brief introduction of the psychological assessment assigned, its
associated theory, construct measured, summary of the manual given, and the use of
the assessment in the targeted population) – 5 to 10 minutes recording.
b.) Pre-recorded video of the test administration:
- Students are required to conduct the test administration for a period of at least 45-
to 60- minutes to obtain an outcome/findings from the psychological testing.
- Then, students are required to creatively edit the pre-recorded video to be included
in the presentation to showcase the test administration procedure. This edited
video can range from 10- to 15-minutes.
- Test scoring
- Students are required to present the scoring of the tests, following the manual
given.

2. Project (20%)

A: Objective
Besides test administration, scoring, and interpretation, selection of a psychological test that can
accurately and efficiently assess the mental health condition of an individual is important. The
aim of this assignment is to assess students’ ability to propose and select psychological
assessments relevant to the case, with good knowledge of the types of available psychological
assessments.

B: Instruction
• This is a group assignment (4-5 students in a group).
• Student will be given a clinical case by end of Week 2.
• Student is required to propose some psychological assessments for the given case to
address the presenting problem(s).
• In the process of proposing the selected psychological assessments, students are expected
to justify the selection, administration, and the scoring of the psychological assessment
based on student’s knowledge, principles, and skills in psychometric properties, and
psychological assessments and testing. Then, students are required to reflect on the
usability, practicability, and personal difficulties of the tools selected.
• The entire presentation should be no longer than 20 minutes.

3. Report (20%)

A: Objective
In the final stage of the psychological test administration, scoring, and interpretations, clinical
psychologist communicates and deliver the test results in mostly written format. It can be said
that the end-product of the entire psychological assessment procedure is report writing.

B: Instruction
• This is an individual assignment.
• Using the same group pairing from Assignment Task 1 (Presentation), student is required to
write a full report of the assessment conducted. Student are expected to interpret and
complete a written comprehensive psychological assessment report. As such, student
should conduct a full psychological assessment session (intake interview, psychological
administration, and assessment, to report writing) to complete this assignment.
• Student is required to integrate the information from the given information to derive a report
that includes the following:
- Identifying information
- Reason for referral
- Historical background
- Procedures used
- Results
- Integrative summary
- Recommendations and treatment plan
• The format of the written psychological report will be given during the class. This written
psychological report adheres to the APA standards of a comprehensive psychological
report.
