Gerunds : ing

1) We are going to use gerunds after prepositions


(In, at, on, by, for, of, after, before, about, between, above,
under, below, without , against ….)
- Thank you for paying attention to the road
- She is interested in buying a new car
- I´ll call you after landing
- Don´t forget take off your shoes before entering
- He is good at playing soccer
- She is afraid of flying by airplane
- I´m worried about taking bad decisions.
- She is sick and tired of washing the dishes

Hate/Love : I hate/dislike/AVOID running but I love/like

Recommend: I recommend visiting the Zoo and Aquarium
Stop : You should stop smoking / You need to stop talking
Feel like : I feel like going to Europe this year ( Tener ganas de, apetecer)
Can´t stand : I can´t stand walking slowly ( no soportar)
Admit : My cousin admitted making the mistake
Finish: I finished organizing my bedroom.
Quit : I told my father that I´m going to quit singing (dejar)
Keep: She wants to keep practicing
I can’t help falling in love with you

Usualmente lo ves en frases
 Smoking costs a lot of money. (Fumar cuesta mucho)
 Running in the morning is healthy ( El correr en la mañanas es
saludable )
 Taking decisions is part of life ( La toma de decisions es parte de la
vida)
 Learning Spanish is not as easy
 Drinking whisky is a pleasure
- Cutting corners is a bad idea

I go shopping / camping/ hiking/ swimming , I love cooking


 I don't like reading.
 My favourite occupation is swimming .
