Lesson 9:

Can you describe the culture within your own class or classes? What do you "inherit" and
what can you create or change?

 As I see myself in our class the culture was often emerges from the collective beliefs,
values, norms, and behaviors of its members. It is influenced by various factors, such
as students' backgrounds, personalities, socioeconomic status, and the educational
environment. Some aspects of class culture may be inherited, meaning they are
carried over from previous generations or influenced by societal norms. For example,
rules and regulations set by educational institutions, grading systems, and traditional
teaching methods can contribute to the inherited culture of a class. However,
individuals within a class also have the power to create or change its culture. Each
student brings their unique perspectives, experiences, and ideas, which can shape the
collective identity of the class. By embracing and respecting diversity, fostering open
communication, and promoting inclusion, students can contribute to creating an
inclusive and supportive class culture. Moreover, teachers and facilitators have a
crucial role in shaping class culture. They can create a positive learning environment
by promoting active engagement, collaboration, and critical thinking. They can
encourage students to share their opinions, challenge conventional ideas, and express
themselves creatively. By implementing innovative teaching methods and adapting to
the changing needs of students, educators can actively contribute to reshaping the
class culture.
