    Description This formulation provides a clear-liquid facial cleanser with 1% salicylic acid. This cleanser has excellent
    foaming and wetting properties.

    Deionized Water q.s. to 100.0


    Glycerin 2.5
    Versene 200 (Dow Chemical) Tetrasodium EDTA 0.2
    BIO-TERGE® AS-40 (or BIO-TERGE® AS-40 HP) 30.0
    AMPHOSOL® HCG (or AMPHOSOL® HCG-HP) 20.0
    Avanel S-150 (PPG) Sodium C12-15 Pareth-15 6.5
    Salicylic Acid 1.0
    Citric Acid (50% solution) q.s.
    Sodium Chloride q.s.

    Procedure 1. Add Deionized Water, Glycerin, Versene 200, BIO-TERGE® AS-40 (or BIO-TERGE® AS-40 HP),
    and AMPHOSOL® HCG (or AMPHOSOL® HCG-HP) and mix well.
    2. Into a separate vessel, premix Avanel S-150 and Salicylic Acid, making sure all crystals are
    dissolved.
    3. Adjust viscosity with Sodium Chloride and adjust pH with Citric Acid (50% solution), if necessary.
    *Note: When formulating with AMPHOSHOL® HCG-HP and/or BIO-TERGE® AS-40 HP, a greater
    amount of Citric Acid (50% solution) may be needed to adjust the pH within the recommended range as
    noted, than when formulating with AMPHOSOL® HCG and BIO-TERGE® AS-40.
