Assignment Description:
As a group, you will have the opportunity to hold a mock meeting to come to a decision based
on a hypothetical workplace scenario.
Assignment Steps:
To complete this assignment:
1. The class will be divided into meeting groups. You will use informal rules of conduct for
the team meeting.
2. Each group will be made up of a:
o Required:
i. Leader
ii. Scribe
iii. Distracted Participant
iv. Disgruntled Participant
v. Participant Trying to Overthrow

o Additional:

3. As a group, choose one of the following issues to address:
o Shirt: Your team is tasked with designing a unisex casual day shirt for your
company. There are 500 employees, and the budget is $12 per shirt.
o Mural: You have a $750 budget to create a mural in the lobby of your company,
celebrating 100 years of business.
o Staff/Project Party: You have a $1,000 budget to plan an end-of-project staff
party to celebrate a job well done. There are 25 people on staff.
o Company Coin: To celebrate the company being in business for 75 years, all 550
employees will receive a commemorative coin. You will need to have it designed,
created, and distributed. Your budget is $10 per coin.
4. As a group, create an agenda for your meeting. Use the Agenda Template.
5. Conduct the meeting. The scribe must create the minutes for the meeting and submit
them as their written component for their assignment.
6. Every team member, other than the scribe, must submit a small reflection based on the
meeting. Use the Reflection Template.

6 Points. Discussion covering all topics; everyone performing their role adequately; few decisions made.
4 Points. Discussion limited; very few people performing their role, with little enthusiasm; few decisions
made.
2 Point. Discussion limited; roles are not apparent; decisions made are absent or extremely limited.
