Area of Study: Machine Learning

Title of Project:
Analysis Of Solar Power Generation Forecasting Using Machine Learning
Techniques

Abstract
Proposed system presents a machine learning based approach for predicting solar power
generation forecasting using Machine Learning Techniques. The approach includes data
collection, preprocessing, feature selection, model selection, training, evaluation, and
deployment. High-quality data from multiple sources, including weather data, solar
irradiance data, and historical solar power generation data, are collected and pre-processed
to remove outliers, handle missing values, and normalize the data. Relevant features such as
temperature, humidity, wind speed, and solar irradiance are selected for model training.
Naive Bayes and Artificial Neural Networks are used as machine learning algorithms to
produce accurate predictions. The models are trained on a large dataset of historical solar
power generation data and other relevant features. The trained machine learning models are
then deployed in a production environment, where they can be used to make real-time
predictions about solar power generation.

Introduction
Renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, offer many environmental
advantages over fossil fuels for electricity generation, but the energy produced by them
fluctuates with changing weather conditions. This work we proposed a solar energy
generation and analysis with prediction in IoT Environment. We also proposed energy
predictions scenario base on some data mining and prediction techniques.
Motivation
The motivation behind this project is to enhance the efficiency and reliability of solar
energy systems by improving the accuracy of energy generation predictions. With
increasing adoption of renewable energy, accurate forecasting can address the challenges of
inconsistent energy production due to weather variability. By integrating machine learning
with solar energy forecasting, the project aims to contribute to more sustainable and cost-
effective solar power solutions, making renewable energy a more viable and attractive
option for a broader range of applications.

Problem Statement
Predicting solar power generation is difficult due to fluctuating weather conditions.
This project aims to develop machine learning models to forecast solar power output more
accurately using historical weather data.

Methodology

Conclusion

In conclusion, this proposed system presented a machine learning-based approach for

predicting solar power generation using ML. The proposed approach includes data collection,
preprocessing, feature selection, model selection, training, evaluation, and deployment
techniques. High-quality data from multiple sources, including weather data, solar irradiance
data, and historical solar power generation data, are collected and preprocessed to remove
outliers, handle missing values, and normalize the data. Relevant features such as
temperature, humidity, wind speed, and solar irradiance are selected for model training. The
models are trained on a large dataset of historical solar power generation data and other
relevant features. The trained machine learning models are then deployed in a production
environment, where they can be used to make real-time predictions about solar power
generation.
