CAMELS

Camels live in the desert. They are right at


home in hot, dry, Sandy places. They can go for
days without drinking water.

People use camels to carry heavy loads across


the sand. Camels can walk all day on their
strong legs. Their big feet have pads on the
bottom. The pads keep the camels from the
sinking into the sand.

Camels have eyes that help them live in the


desert. They have special eyelids that cover and
protect their ayes from the blowing sand. Their
eyebrows stick out over their eyes and shade
them from the sun.
