VI. Content and Context

Content

Fire protection training for gasoline station personnel covers critical areas such as understanding
the properties and risks associated with flammable liquids like gasoline, strategies to prevent static
electricity buildup, and protocols for managing potential electrical hazards. Employees are
instructed on proper storage techniques for hazardous materials, regular equipment inspection and
maintenance practices, and the enforcement of strict no-smoking policies. Practical training
includes proficiency in the operation of fire extinguishers, fire alarms, and emergency shutdown
systems. Additionally, the program includes comprehensive emergency response procedures, such
as evacuation plans, effective communication strategies during crises, and basic first aid skills
necessary for addressing injuries like burns and smoke inhalation. Regular drills and evaluations
are integral to reinforcing knowledge and ensuring readiness to handle fire-related emergencies
effectively.

Context

The fire protection training program at gasoline stations aims to significantly reduce the inherent
risks associated with handling flammable substances and operating in a potentially hazardous
environment. Tailored for gasoline station employees, including attendants, and cashiers, the
training sessions are conducted on-site to familiarize participants with their specific workplace
conditions and equipment. This approach ensures that the training content remains directly
applicable to daily operational challenges and emergency scenarios that may arise. Scheduled
annually, each session spans five hours, striking a balance between theoretical instruction and
hands-on practical exercises to enhance retention and skill application in real-world situations.

Overall, the fire protection training program for gasoline station personnel focuses on preventing
and responding to risks associated with handling flammable liquids like gasoline. It covers
understanding flammable properties, preventing static electricity, and managing electrical hazards.
Training includes proper storage, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols, such as no-
smoking policies. Practical skills like fire extinguisher use, alarm systems, emergency shutdowns,
evacuation planning, crisis communication, and basic first aid are emphasized. Tailored for on-site
relevance to attendants, and cashiers, the sessions balance theory and hands-on exercises annually
to enhance safety readiness.
