Interview Questions

Prompt: The interview questions assignment helps prepare students for common interview
questions they will encounter in interviews for internships and full-time positions.There are many
other interview questions that exist that students often find challenging. Through this
assignment, students will be planning answers for the most frequently asked questions during
an interview.

Assignment Instructions: Below are six categories of questions, attempting to answer these
questions may require some additional thought and brainstorming. Please choose one question
from each category and give thorough and complete answers. You are expected to write them
as though you are answering an interview question (paragraph form).

Categories & Questions Points

Personal Assessment Questions


- Tell me about yourself.
- How would you describe yourself? 5
- What is your greatest weakness?
- What is your greatest strength?

Behavioral Questions
- How would you describe your ability to work as a member of a team? Given
an example.
- What was a major obstacle you have overcome in the past year and what
did you learn from it?
- Tell me about a time when you had to work closely with someone whose 5
personality was very different from yours.
- Give me an example of a time you managed numerous responsibilities. How
did you handle that?
- Describe a long-term project that you kept on track. How did you keep
everything moving?

Personal Goal Questions


- What would you like to learn more about in your field of expertise?
- Do you plan to pursue additional education? If so, what field would you
choose?
- What are your future career goals and what do you plan to do to achieve
them? (e.g. in the next five years) 5
- Do you think this position aligns with your professional goals? In which
ways?
- Do you prefer becoming an expert in your field or broadening your
knowledge of different disciplines? Why?
- Given the option, what project would you choose: one that matches your
current skills and knowledge and requires you leading a team, or one where
you’ll work on something less familiar but you’ll be able to collaborate with
colleagues?
- What do you do to achieve your professional goals?

Experience-Based Questions
- Describe your work ethic.
- Describe a time when your team or company was undergoing some change.
How did that impact you, and how did you adapt?
- What are the two most significant achievements you had in your last job? 5
- Can you share more about the XYZ project you listed on your resume?
- What about your last job did you like least and most?
- Do you have experience in leading a team?
- In what ways have you grown your skill set or experience in your last role?
- Can you share a time you had to make a tough decision and what resulted?

Fit for Company/Position Questions


- Why should we hire you?
- What do you know about the position that we are offering?
- How can your experience help you in the position you are applying for?
- What type of work environment do you prefer? 5
- Do you prefer to get feedback about your performance through formal
reviews or informal meetings?
- Why do you want to work for us?
- Which of our company values resonates most with you?
- What would be your goals for the first 90 days if you were hired?

Tricky/difficult Questions
- Do you have an IQ of more than 130?
- Do you have a track record of doing something really well? 5
- Mention what is the height/weight of the empire state building/eiffel
tower/Minar-e-Pakistan?
- How much should you charge to wash all the windows in NewYork?
