An astrologer lived in a town. Proior to that, he was cultivating lands. He had a
quarrel with Gurunayaka of the same place. A quarrel which started for some
reason, gradually reached the stage of physical fight. When the astrologer stabbed
Gurunayaka with a knife, he fell unconscious. Seeing Gurunayaka with a knife, he
fell unconscious. Seeing Gurunayaka in that state, the astrologer took his body and
threw it to an unused well and went away. The astrologer who decided to vacate
the village, without anybody’s knowledge left the village and went to a town. Fro
the sake of livelihood, he took up astrology. Sitting under the shade of a banyan tree
on the shop line, he was telling the future of the people who were coming near to
him and leading his life. Someone had come near the same banyan tree and stood
there to take rest. Thinking that the passerby will give money, the astrologer told
him – You are tired! When he said that let us speak to each other to relieve
tiredness, the passerby angrily asked him, are you an astrologer? The astrologer
who tried to see his hands even in dark, said that I can tell about your fortune lines.
The passerby interrupted the astrologer’s talk and asked him to tell special about
him. The astrologer said that if you become happy with my words, you must pay me
twenty rupees. The passerby agreed and said if I am not satisfied by your words,
you must return my twenty rupees and started lighting a cigarette. The astrologer
who noticed the face of the passerby became apprehensive and said array, it is
getting late. I have to go home now, he said. The passerby held astrologer’s hand
tightly and said – you have called me forcibly when I was walking on this way and
on the contrary, you are running now. The astrologer who was held in tight fist of
the passerby felt trembled and said I will tell tomorrow, not today. Then the
2
passerby said, no, no, you have taken the money and promised me. Answer for a
question only. The passerby angrily asked, am I going to get what I am searching
for? Finding no other option, the astrologer said, had you danger to your life
earlier? The passerby said yes and when the astrologer said, you were stabbed with
a knife and passerby said yes, yes, and showed the mark of wound on his chest. The
astrologer said that he who stabbed thought that you were dead and threw your
body to a nearby well and went. When the astrologer said that he died about four
months ago, and you cannot find him in this birth and when he said, are you not
Gurunayak? Passerby was surprised. He asked him how do you know my name?
The astrologer said, I know everything. The astrologer said you must obey my
words, go to your place right today and if you leave your place again, your life will
be in danger. The passerby accepted the astrologer’s words and left from there. The
fact is that one who tried to kill Gurunayaka and threw him to a well was none but
the astrologer. As Gurunayaka could not identify the astrologer by his face, the
astrologer identified Gurunayaka in fear and thought a plan. The time sense of the
astrologer saved his life.

An astrologer lived in a town. He was sitting under the shade of a banyan tree and
his profession was to forecast the future of the people who were coming to him. He
who had no basic knowledge of astrology, he was guessting their future out of
brilliance and leading his life.
One day, as it was getting dark, he started packing his belongings in the bag,
suddenly he noticed a man walking on that road and started talking to him. The
astrologer saw his hands in dark and mentioned your fortune lines……. Immediately,
the passerby tell something special, if you are an astrologer. The astrologer said if you
are satisfied with my forecast, you must pay me twenty rupees, the passerby agreed to
do so and said if I am not satisfied, you must pay me twenty rupees and tried to light a
cigarette. In that light, the astrologer saw the face of the passerby in apprehension and
said, array, it is getting late and I have to go. When the astrologer prepared to leave the
place, the passerby held his hand tightly and asked who are running away? When I was
walking on the road, you have called me here and now you are trying to flee from here.
The astrologer who was shaken in the fist of the passerby said in this way. I will tell
tomorrow but not today. The passerby said you have taken the money and promised to
forecast. You can answer to my one question. Am I going to succeed in my search or
not? The passerby asked. The astrologer said, did you not face danger to your life
earlier? He said yes, yes. Were you not injured by knife? When astrologer questioned
like this, he said yes and showed his wound mark to him. The astrologer further
continued his talk and said, he who stabbed you threw your body to a nearby well
thinking that you are dead and ran away.
The passerby said, true, true and explained that someone who had come there to
drink water saved my life. Thereupon, I am searching for him who tried to kill me and
if I find him, I will kill him, the passerby angrily said. Yes, if no thirsty person had come
near the well, I would have dead by then. Tell me now, when can I see the person who
stabbed me and take revenge against him, the passerby asked. The astrologer said you
can see him only in the other world because he died around four months ago. When
the astrologer said, you can not see him in this life, the passerby got disappointed. The
astrologer further continued his talk and said, are you not Gurunayak? The passerby
asked, how do you know my name? The astrologer said, I know everything,
Gurunayaka. Listen to me carefully, return to your native place today itself and there is
danger to your life, if you leave your place again, the astrologer said. The passerby said,
why should I leave my place again? When can I see him? I am wandering from one
place to another to kill him with my hands. He escaped from me, Gurunayaka said to
the astrologer and left the place after giving him twenty rupees.
