Academic Audit Report 2079

Executive Summary

Madan Bhandari Memorial College has taken up several measures to improve its current

academic state. It has set up three Departments and five Programs. The Departments refer to the Master's

Degree courses run at the College. The college operates Master's Degree courses in English, Journalism,

and Sociology. Similarly, the sets Bachelor's Degree courses are called Programs. These Programs

include BA, BCA, BBS, BBM, and BScCSIT.

The academic quality assured by the Program is generally good. However, the College strives to

excel in all aspects of its quality. This academic report is one instance of such efforts initiated by the

College.

This report consists of two aspects: first, the overall evaluation of the Program and the separate

performance evaluation of every faculty involved in teaching-learning activities.

The evaluation of the Program is mainly based on the following aspects:

1. Vision, mission, goals, and objectives

2. Participatory decision making

3. Paying attention to stakeholders’ concerns

4. Teaching-learning and evaluation

5. Physical infrastructure and facilities

6. Departmental library

7. Academic growth of students

8. Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges

The analysis of all these aspects reflects satisfactory results. However, many areas need

to be improved, especially the better systematization of human resources and setting up the

infrastructure for better results. The Program cares for stakeholders' concerns, especially the
students. The best part of the Program is that it is cordial and friendly with students who feel

happy to be in the College. This cordiality enhances their learning process. The top priority of

the Program is to strive for excellence.

The second aspect of this report is the evaluation of the faculties involved in the teaching-learning

process of the Program. The performance of the faculties was evaluated based on lesson plans,

maintenance of students' records, scrutiny of students' homework, and the percent of academic success of

students in the internal and/or board exams. The faculties were also assessed based on regularity,

punctuality, use of teaching aids, command on the subject, the use of innovative pedagogical practices,

and support to students. The faculties' personal academic growth was also evaluated in terms of their

participation in Seminars, Workshops, and research publications.

This report of the Program is the first-ever initiative. Many weaknesses in the analysis and

evaluation process have persisted. The Program is determined to improve such shortcomings in the

future.
