Jane: It depends what you want to do. I like to get out of my comfort zone when I travel by going to a far-off, exotic
location
and immersing myself in the local culture.
John: That does sound interesting. I’m looking to avoid the usual tourist hotspots and walk the road less traveled.
What do you think, Jill?
Jill: Well, to be honest, I prefer an easier vacation where everything is taken care of for me.
You know, like one of those all-inclusive packages?
John: Oh, you mean the ones where your flight, hotel, and everything is included?
Jill: Yes, I like those kinds of vacations because it’s important to be able to relax when you have time away from work.
I want a completely stress-free experience, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Jane: But don’t you get bored?
Jill: Not at all. I relax by the pool and don’t think about work or stress for 7 days. It’s great!
John: That does sound appealing, but aren’t the hotels really crowded?
Jill: It depends when you go. If you go at an off-peak time, there are no crowds. If you go in the middle of summer,
it’s a different story though.
Jane: So, where are you going to go?
John: Well, I like the adventure of your idea, and I like the idea of Jill’s stress-free vacation too.
Jane: And…?
John: I think I’m going to charter a boat, which I’ve never done before, and sail out into the ocean. I’m not going to talk
to anybody for seven days, and I’m just going to relax and spend my nights sleeping under the stars. What do you think?
Jill: John, I have to be honest: that sounds terrible.
John: Maybe for you! I’m going to book it later.

READING
Many countries have interested me with their cultures or natural beauty; however, Japan is
the land of my dreams mainly because I have been a big fan of anime and started watching
this kind of movie when I was a student in high school. I was impressed by the scenery that
appears in those movies. They are the limitless inspiration that sparks the want to visit this
country in me.

I intend to go to Japan between mid-March and May next year. I have heard that this is an
ideal time for people to see cherry blossoms. I am not going there alone but with some of my
friends, because we all think Japan is a fascinating destination.

I am completing my bucket list, including everything I would do once we set foot in Japan.
First, we would try the traditional costume of Japan – the Kimono and take some photos.
Then, Akihabara, which has emerged as the center of Japanese anime culture, might be the
next place. We will see and buy anime collectibles. Last but not least, we will take part in the
hanami party, which is the annual flower-watching celebration of Sakura. We would enjoy
delicious food and drink under the pink trees. After that, we’ll go to the market to buy some
souvenirs for our family and friends.

I think that this journey will give me the chance to experience a new culture and I’m really
looking forward to the trip.
