Safety Affairs
Before using this machine, users must read this instruction and some
correlative manual books and comply with operational rules strictly,
non-professional staffs are forbidden to turn on the machine.
This device uses the forth laser instrument (strong laser radiate), and
the following affairs must be regarded: a, avoiding igniting the tinder
around; b, during the process of machining, some toxic or baneful gases
may be produced by different machining materials; c, direct irradiating of
laser may cause hurts to human body. So hydrant instruments are
required in machine’s using place, flammability and explosive objects are
forbidden to stock near the machine, at the same time a good ventilated
place is needed, non-professional staffs are forbidden to approach the
machine.
Machining objects and letting objects must accord to local laws and
statutes.
Laser machining exist hazard. Users must think carefully about
whether object is suitable to be machined.
High voltage and some other potential dangers exist in interior of the
device, non-professional staffs of our company are forbidden to open it.
Person can’t go away when device is on power and every switch must
be turn off when operator leaves.
Covers are forbidden to open when machine is working.
Engraving machine and its correlative devices must be grounded
safely before you turn on the machine.
Irrelative holophotes and diffuse reflection objects are forbidden to put
in device in order to prevent laser from being reflected to human body
and flammable objects.
When engraving machine is working, operator must observe its
working condition, turn off power when abnormal conditions happen and
adopt responsible methods.
The device must be placed in a draught environment far from
pollution, shake, strong electricity and strong magnetic filed. Working

temperature of environment is about 5-40 centigrade and working
humidity of environment is 5-95% (no coagulate water).
Device must be far away from electrical instrument that is sensitive to
electromagnetic disruption, for this device might produce
electromagnetic disruption to it.
Working voltage of the device: AC220V, 50Hz; total power <1250w.
When voltage is not steady or frequency is not compatible, it is not
allowed to turn on the machine.
Any lost caused by improper using or not according to above
rules, our company has no responsibility for it.

Chapter 1 Appearance of the Machine and fittings

Chapter 2 Installing of the machine
A complete working system makes up of engraving machine
mainframe, laser power, blower, air compressor, water tank, air tube,
communicate cable. According to user’s different requirement, you can
configure computer, printer and scanner Etc.
Installing steps:
A. Laser tube installing
For laser tube is fragile vitreous product, we pack it independently
for safe travel. So we must install laser tube before adjusting machine.
Laser tube is installed in the back of the machine. We can see two V-form
brackets when we open the protecting cover of laser tube. As in figure
F2-1:

First, untie these two straps, put the water outlet side of the laser
tube (positive pole) on the V-form bracket carefully and then rivet it
firmly. As in figure F2-2 and figure F2-3

Attention:
Not be too tight when fixing in order to avoid destroying laser tube,
underlay some sponge under it when needed.2. Make sure that water
inlet (light out side) is at the bottom of the tube.
After fixing laser tube, connect water inlet of the water protection
with water inlet of laser tube on the negative pole (figure F2-5), and
connect the water outlet pipe with water outlet of laser tube (high voltage
side), as in figure F2-6:

Laser power resource installing:
Now we put laser generator into the bottom of right trunk, connect
positive pole line first, as in figure F2-8:

Loosen the white glue screw cap on the positive pole of laser
generator, Make brass holes aim at positive brass pillar and insert it, then
rotate tight the white glue screw cap slowly, as in figure F2-9:
Then connect the negative line with laser power negative line and
fix the high-voltage connection on the insulating bracket, as in figure
F2-10:

Finally open the side cover of the engraving machine and thread the
control lines through the alveolus to connect to control port of laser
generator. The installing has finished here, as in figure F2-11:

Installing of water pump:
Fill the water tank with pure water, connect the pump with water
outlet connection and insert the water pipe, then put them in water tank
and connect water pipe to water inlet of engraving machine and use
another water pipe to connect to engraving machine water outlet, and
finally forms water cycle. As in figure F2-12:

Turn on the power of water pump. You can see that water will fill
laser tube gradually, if water flows smoothly in water outlet, that is to say
pump works normally.
In order to check that water flows normally in laser tube, we setup a
water protection in this water cycle, if water does not flow smoothly or
works abnormally, engraving machine will convert into protection state,
and laser tube will not emit light. So we must pay attention to the
cleaning of pump and water pipe in daily maintains.

Air compressor installing
Connect air compressor outlet with inlet of engraving machine, turn
on the power and make sure that air blows normally. As in figure F2-13:

Air compressor is of great important in this system. High-pressure
air comes out from the outlet of laser head. On the one hand it is to make
sure that the focus lens is clean and on the other hand it protects the
material from being ignited by laser. So you must be careful about air
pipe in order to avoid flexure or destroying, or abnormal work of air
compressor will cause burning of material.
Light path adjustment
Connect all electronic lines, turn on the power of engraving
machine, then the machine will reset and back to the last origin point, it
indicates that machine works normally, turn on the power of laser
generator and adjust light path. First, we adjust 1# mirror, move the
crossbeam to the nearest point of the mirror, eradiate a mark, then move
the crossbeam to the farthest point, eradiate a mark too. Adjust three
screws at the back of the mirror to make the farthest point lap over the
nearest point.

After adjusting 1#mirror, then we adjust 2# mirror and use the same
method as above.
Notice: the position of the light point should be better on the center
of mirror. It’s dangerous if it is on the edge of the mirror. If it is not on
the center of the mirror, please adjust mirror again until it moves to the
center.
Finally, check whether the four points at different culminations are
superposition, if they are not superposition, please readjust light path
until they are superposition. After four points lap over the same point,
let’s have a look at the point to make sure it is at the center of the
alveolus of the laser head. If it is not at the center of the light entrance,
turn off laser generator and adjust the position of laser tube. If it warps in
the horizontal position, adjust it to the same position it warps. For
instance, warps left, adjusts laser tube to left; warp right, and adjusts
laser tube to right. If it warps in perpendicular position, adjusts it in the
opposite position. For instance, warps up, adjust laser tube lower; warps
low, adjusts laser tube higher. (As in figure F2-14)
Notice: above adjustment only aims at negative pole of the laser
tube (light outlet side), if you want to adjust positive pole to achieve the
same result, you have to adjust it in an opposite direction to the above

method.
A detail introduction about adjustment refers to chapter 7 < light
way straighten standards>.
After adjustment, please fold the cover to protect laser tube.
6. Installing of blower
First, use a windpipe to connect blower with dust collector of
engraving, and lock it firmly. Then use another windpipe, which is
connected to outlet of blower, lead to the outside of room, and connect
the power line. As in figure F2-15:

Ground cable technical requirements
A. The ground device must use 4 pieces 4×35mm steel stick to dig into
the moist place around the house, two pieces are 1 meter distance and
each piece dip down to 1.5 meter. Then use 3X30mm flat iron to connect
each piece to combine an efficient ground network.
B. Make sure the resistance of ground device is 3-5 ohm
C. A RVV2.5MM2 copper wire will connect to the exit of ground device
and the entrance of the cable switch of customer’s electrical machine.
D. Please make sure the wire properly grounded as our technical
requirements in this working sheet so our laser machine can work
normally.

Installing of device drive
Han's YueMing Laser engraving machine uses USB port to connect
to computer, and transmits data. So you have to install the drive before
using the machine.
Setup methods:
Start the computer, turn on the engraving machine power, use USB
connection line to connect computer with engraving machine. Then “new
hardware has been found….”will appear on computer screen, as
following figure:

Restart computer, make the mouse point to “my computer” and click
right button, then click “property” and select “hardware”, examine “port
(COM or PLT)” in “device management”, you can see information
produced by drive program “ USB Serial Port (COM3)”, that is to say the
port engraving machine will use is serial port COM3, shown in figure
F2-25:

COM3 is the port from which computer transmits data to engraving
machine, when you use Han's YueMing engraving software to output
graphics, you have to choose this port, these two ports must be consistent
or output is incapable. As shown in following figure:

Generally speaking, if you have installed drive program, you have
no necessity to reinstall it. When you can’t find serial port, it may cause
by some other reasons. If you reinstall above drive program for many
times, COM5, COM6 may appear and computer may not find correct
port to output that engraving is incapable. So we have to run
“ftdiunin.exe” to uninstall drive program, then reinstall the drive after
these operations.
Entire installing of engraving machine system finished here, we will
introduce the operational methods to you in the following chapters.

Chapter3 Operation introduction of laser
engraving machine
Function introduction of operation button.
Term explanation
Mechanic origin: it is in the top-right corner of the working platform,
this is the mechanic checking point (users can not change), engraving
machine will move to this place if you turn on the machine or reset, then
move to the former anchor point before this two operations.
Engraving origin: it is the beginning location of an engraving work.
You can define it all around the dimension bound of the machine, and
this point is always valid before a new definition.
Direction definition: (operator faces the working platform)
Up: the direction wheel moves away from operator
Down: the direction wheel moves near to operator.
Left: the direction on operator’s left hand.
Right: the direction on operator’s right hand.

There are 15 buttons on control panel and a crystal display.
A. Crystal display:
Show the working and setting state of the machine.
B. Direction button:

There are up, down, left, right four buttons, press these buttons can
change the location of laser head to the corresponding direction.
Meanwhile, Change speed/power value in 10 percent using left, right
button while in 1 percent using up, down button.
These operations are forbidden during the work.
C.E-stop button:
E-stop: main function is to initiate system. If you start the
machine, this button can be used in any state, just like restart. When
working and press ESC to stop present work, and then return to
waiting state. Press “E-stop” and not loosen during the machine’s
generator, motor etc); then loosen this button, system reset again.
D. Pulse button:
Press this button under starting state, laser tube will emit laser.
When you loosen it laser tube will stops emitting. It is mainly used in
testing. It is invalid during the work.
E. Menu button:
The button is used for function advance; it is no meaning at for the
moment.
F. Enter button:

Confirm the operation. It is only valid in speed setting, power
setting.
G. ESC button:
Cancel operation. When you set parameters, it cancels the set
you have made; when system is pause state, press this button ,
system will return to waiting state. This button is invalid in other
state.
H. Speed button:
Set the default working speed of the machine, ranges from 1% to
100%.
Operation of speed setting:
A). Press this button before work or work is paused.
B). Change speed value in 10 percent by left, right button while in 1
percent by up, down button.
C). After speed value has set, press “Enter” to store your set or press
“ESC” to cancel the setting.
I. Min power button:
It has no function for the mention.
J. Max power button:
Set the default working power of the machine, ranges from 1% to
100%.
Operation of power setting:
A). Press this button before work or work is paused.
B). Change speed value in 10 percent using left, right button while
in 1 percent using up, down button.
C). After power value has set, press “Enter” to store your set or
press “ESC” to cancel the setting.
K. Repeat button:
Repeat the former work. Computer outputs engraving data to
machine, and the data is stored in machine, so the system can
complete engraving work without computer.
If users need to output the same graphic many times, this

“button” can be used.
It is valid in waiting state when engraving data is stored in
machine, while invalid in other states.
L. Start/Pause button:
Change the states between work and pause.
When system is working and press this button, system changes
into pause state. Press this button again, system will return to
work state. This button is valid in work and pause state.
Advise user not to pressing the button too frequently and
quickly when using the button.
M. Origin button:
This button is used to define engraving origin or cut the self-check
graphics.
A). Press this button more than 3 seconds (long press), change the
current point into anchor origin, system runs self-check and cut self-check
graphics.
B). If you need to change the anchor origin before engraving, use
direction buttons to move the laser head to the location you want, press
this button and define anchor origin.
C). This button is invalid during work.
If user wants to use the same anchor origin, you have no need to
define anchor origin each time. (Do not press this button and press start
button directly).

Chapter 4 The Operation Methods Of
Engraving Software
Our engraving software, developed all by our company, is an applied
software to our machine, and this software is of great applicable in
engraving output, and its biggest advantage is it has a simple and fast
operation interface, and it is easy to learn and use. The software can
support many kinds of file formats. And now, the software can support to
the following file format: YMF, BMP, PLT, OUT, DST, JPG, JPEG, GIF,
and etc. PLT format is vector-graph,so it has a high delicate, small
quality of data, and is fast to be calculates. While BMP format’s biggest
advantage, saving a lot of time for the customer, is it can be output
directly (pre-requirement is the graphs has a high quality), Beside, BMP
format is better in net-point making. And the use of these two kinds of
file formats satisfy customers’ different engraving requirements, as well
as solving a multiple parameter settings problem and realizing a once
engraving output and high working efficient. In order to let you master
our software better, we have written the following instruction:
Software installing: For this software has only one executing-allowed
file, it does not need a special installing. What you need to do is to put
the disk, which will be given to you with the machine, into the disk
driver, and copy all the files to computer’s hard disk, then locate for the
OUR document, open it and copy OUR.EXE to the desk or somewhere
else, you can operate our r software directly.

(3). Engraving setting:
In our software, “whole setting”, “group setting” is the fundamental
operations to realize the engraving work, then, we will have a detail
introduction about engraving parameters setting to you in the following
paragraphs. When click right button (or click “operation” in the menu), a
function menu will appear, as F4-6

In order to satisfy the different engraving output methods in one

graphics, the software defines different places to satisfy different
engraving aims and engraving properties. Clicking “whole setting”,
“group setting”, you can realize all the functions in the engraving
parameter setting. Let’s have instruction about each setting.
Block: it is a distinct defined by users (accomplished by rectangle
choosing and line choosing tools.). It is the smallest unit of engraving
typeset。The reason to define group is to realize different engraving
method in different parts in the same graphics.
Group: group is the aggregate of blocks. When you define a block,
you must decide which group block belongs to. A group can contain
many blocks, and engraving properties (engraving method, depth,
velocity, acclivity etc.) are defined in groups.
Integral (typeset): the district besides all the defined blocks,
videlicet all the districts that do not be chosen.
Property setting (whole property, group property): containing depth
defining and velocity defining.
Speed: show the moving velocity when machine is engraving.
Machine default speed: use the velocity parameters shown on the
machine’s screen.
User-defined speed: the speed ranges from 0 to 100 and calculates
as 100 when defined as above 100. The speed parameters revealed on the
machine display are invalid when adopting user-defined speeds.
Depth: defines the laser intensity in engraving. Top Depth is only
valid for the cleaning of the slopes and is defined as the depth of the
perpendicular line retained from the top of the slope stroke. Depth
defines the biggest depth in engraving. When the Top Depth equals the
Depth, there is no slope function.
Gradient: define how far the slope starts from the stroke, ranging
from 0 to 3 mm. The smaller the value is, the bigger the gradient is.
When the gradient is 0, then it is a straight line without slope function
Engraving Method:
Edge: only engrave the outline border of the graphics or stroke.

Original Line: only engrave the central axes of the graphics or
stroke, and applicable to thin line and well-proportioned lines.
Intaglio (femalecarve): dig downward on the graphic or stroke.
Relief (malecarve): remain the graphics or stroke and dig out the rest
part.
Precision of scanning: the bigger the value is, the lines to form the
graphics are denser and the better the effect will be, but it takes a long
time. On the contrary, the result is opposite.
The values of speed, depth, and scanning precision can affect the
engraving depth respectively. Under the same deep definition, the
bigger the speed is, the smaller the depth is; vice versa. On the
contrary, the smaller the defined depth value, the smaller the depth
engraved. When the depth is not big enough, it increases by reducing
speed or raising the scanning precision.

As in F4-7, user can directly click “open” in file menu and open
files, or click button “B” shown in F4-5. And now, the software supports
the following file format: BMP, PLT, JPG, JPEG, GIF, YMF, DST etc.
(2). Selection of graphics
A very important condition to notice is the selection of the graphics
is valid in the bitmap format such as BMP, JPG, JPEG, GIF etc. while

other vector format like PLT are invalid, it uses color to differ one setting
from the others. There is another operational method. We will learn it in
the following chapters.
There are two kinds of tools to select for distinct selection: rectangle tool
and graphics pen tool.
(1).Rectangle selection: click the rectangle tool and mouse icon will turn
into forms, as shown in the F4-8.

Press the mouse left not loosen, move the mouse to the goal place,
and release the mouse left, then a rectangle area is selected. The area
selection is invalid when selected area covers with another selected
rectangle area or overlap the effective area.
Move the rectangle selected area: move the frame mouse into the
rectangle and it will turn into the form of , press the mouse left not
loosen and the selected area will be moved in this way.
Adjust the rectangle selected area: the size of the selected area can
be changed by putting the rectangle tool on the four corners or sides of
the rectangle selected area or moving the mouse with the mouse left
pressed.
Delete the selected area: The deletion can be accomplished by moving
the mouse into the selected area, click the right button and select the

“block deletion”.
(2). Area selected with Paintbrush: strike the paintbrush tool and the
mouse will turn into the form of , as illustrated in Figure F4-9.

Define an end (the first end is the starting point of the area to be
selected) by clicking the mouse left at a certain place and define another
end in the same way. Ends will connect to each other by lines between
two points. Continue to define ends and click the mouse right at last, the
first end will meet with the last end automatically and form a close area.
Notes:
A. Area selected with paintbrush can’t be modified. If there is a
mistake (or the selection is unsatisfactory), the user could only delete the
selected area and select it again.
B. The number of ends defined is limited to 40, or the selection will
fail. When the ends selected are more than 40, the user could only delete
the area selected and make another selection again.
C. Complicated form areas can be selected by paintbrush. Each area
can be overlaid with other:
The user who wants a selected area with stroke and cleaning can
operate as follows:
Define in the same area twice (there should be at least one area

selected by paintbrush), and group one area into the edge group (such as
Group 1) and the other into the cleaning block (such as Group 2).
Then set distinctive attributes for each group. Here we set up the
two blocks as attributes as edge and cleaning, then it can finish both
edging and cleaning. The method is generally adopted in leather industry.
The order of cleaning and edging, decided by their group number, the
smaller the group number, the earlier the engraving sequence.
(3). Affiliate block into group
After every block has defined, it must be affiliated into a group, for
the engraving parameters are set in groups. The method is:
Put the mouse into the block selected, click the right button, select
“block setting”, the following operation interface will appear.

Select “blocks allocate”, and process “ block select” operating, then
select the response block in the pulldown menu,the block selected will
appear red (a general show about forms and position), then we can
operate “group define”, select a group number in the pulldown menu, the
block you selected will affiliate to this group.
(4). Whole setting
Define of engraving parameters besides the selected blocks.
When click shortcut tool icon “H” (F4-5) or click the mouse right,

select “whole setting”, then an interface about “whole property setting”
will appear as F4-11.

Engraving method: Please refer to section 1 point 3 for details.
In addition to choosing intaglio (FemaleCarve) or relief engraving
(MaleCarve), we need to choose:
Horizontal in both directions: keeps the beam steady, move the
engraving head and the carving starts in both directions with light on.
Horizontal in one direction: keeps the beam steady, move the
engraving head and the carving starts in only one direction. Engraving in
this method is less efficient but with good results.
Vertical in both directions: keeps the engraving head steady, move
the beam and the carving starts in both directions with light on.
Vertical in one direction: keep the engraving head steady, move the
beam and the caving starts in only one direction with light on. Engraving
in this method is less efficient but with good result.
Speed in perpendicular cleaning method is slower than that of
horizontal cleaning and is mainly oriented at certain special application
of graphics.
Intaglio with frame: Selects this item, the peripheral area around the
engraving area will be magnified by 1mm.

Special Notice:
“TowardLine” is a special edging and mainly used in original
graphics of thin lines since stroke is always a closed circle. As illustrated
in Figure F4-12, forms can be output by means of edging, because
edging is decided by contour line and each line will be edged twice. If
the laser is expected to go in the direction of the original line only once,
the user can adopt the method of Original Line Output.

When you have decided the output pathway and file name (in this
example, file name is: graphics 1.BMP), click it and output, a dialogue
box as following will appear (Figure F4-17, the color must be chosen
“black and white”; “Dithered” shouldn’t be chosen. Width and height
are proportional to resolution, and the value of width, height can’t be
equal or bigger than 10000 point. If it is equal or bigger than 10000
you have to reduce the perception. The lock behind horizontal and

you click Output by Group, you can select the groups in the choice list
and click the data processing. After the system processing, the output
starts. And then the whole operation is finished. There are several choices

Now you can choose to directly output the processing results to the
engraving machine for engraving or save them as .out file. The .out file
distinguishes from .YMF file in that the former is final engraving data
and that it can only used for engraving output and cannot be modified. If
you save it as a *out file, you don’t need further processing and you can
open it and output the engraving any time. (Click “Output through file”
button in Output Engraving and then selects the right file).
Users may save the processed frequently used samples as such file
so that you don’t need to repeat the setups and processing for engraving
and therefore greatly facilitate the using by customers.
In addition, Number of output rows, Number of output columns

machine will output according to you requirements), Line space, and
column space are added as a useful function to bring convenience to

First, follow the steps shown in the figure F25-28 to output a PLT
file, then, open it in engraving software, as the following figure (F4-30).
We can see that all pen numbers are listed out. But all initial color is
black (for the first time to use engraving software, we have not set
color-setting.)

Then let’s set the color. As shown in F4-31, first, choose pen 1,
click ”color definition”, select one kind of color, and this color is only
useful to the sight, and engraving parameters are differed from each other
by pens number. If you reference the color definition in CorelDraw9, you
can maintain the same sight result to the CorelDraw. (That is to say the
figure in engraving software has the same color in CorelDraw9).
Click “color definition” and define every pen number a name,

generally speaking, we use true name of the color. Of course we can use
“edge color” and “cleaning color” etc.
Click “engraving order”, define the working order of the pen (or
color), or which color you want to output first and which color you want
to output later. Notice: when you use PLT format to output, group setting
is unusable, for PLT format file use different color to define different
engraving property. So the group setting is invalid now.

Here, we can output all groups in a time (output all pens at the same
time), or output group by group, if we choose output group by group, we
can first output a certain color, and then output another. After data
disposing has finished, we can output figures.
Notice:
Software system can’t store parameters and color automatically, in
order to store the definition, we need to select” information browses”
page, and select “ parameter save”, press “OK” to exit, when you reopen
the graphic next time, you have no need to do the color definition.
In our daily application, take figure (F4-30) for example, for
engraving parameter definition of every color has finished, after we open
the file, we have no need to define engraving parameter, and do “ data
dispose”, “ engraving output”, heighten the working efficient.
3, Main points in the application of PLT format
(1). Color setup:
PLT format performs its management on the base of color
lamination while the color parameters transmission is distinguished by
numbers of the paintbrushes (Refer to F5-5 for description of the PLT
interface output in CORELDRAW), so the user had better set up the
color attribute in PLT format with the same color setup of CORELDRAW.
In this way the Han's our engraving software can enjoy the same visual
effect with CORELDRAW.
Meanwhile, it is recommended to define the engraving parameters
for each color and not to change them randomly.

After finishing the above work, it is good to cultivate the habit of
adopting the corresponding color to fill and defining paintbrush color of
outer border according to various engraving demands. By adoption of our
Engraving Software, for PLT format files we don’t need definition of the
engraving parameters before direct data process and data output.
(3). Notice:
a) For edging of characters, we should transform into curves and add
Outer Border Addition Brush.
b) The color of the outer border brush may be different from the
filling colors, but color consistency is favorable for habit cultivation.
c) our Software does not distinguish relief from intaglio in the
format of PLT. When relief is needed in the picture drawing, we need to
create the intaglio effect. Note: combination and outer border color are
needed.
d) For the effect chart made with line thickening method, the work of
“outer border change into items” shall be executed as well as the deletion
of the central axes, especially for the sheets
e) Welding is necessary, especially for sheets and overlaid pictures.
(4). Defect of CORELDRAW
Sometimes for unclear reason, the PLT outputted from
CORELDRAW has distorted effect (for example: the insertion of unclear
lines). In such cases, the original image needs to be zoomed in once
before it is recovered to its original correct size and to repeat the PLT
operation.

Chapter 5 Parameter setting of the machine
We have instructed basic operation methods of our software in the
above paragraphs, then, we will instruct the parameter setting of the
machine, which is of great important here, to you. So you must read this
chapter carefully, and never try changing any parameters before have
understood it, or false parameter setting will cause machine to work
abnormally or cause any other problems.
Parameters in machine are the center setting of the engraving
machine. Normally, users have no need to Change it. If you need to
change the parameter setting, we advise you to store the parameters, then,
correct the parameters, if the machine do not work normally, you can
rewrite the backup data to the machine.
Let’s have a detail instruction about how to set the parameters in
machine.
First, open our software, like figure F5-1:

Click mouse right, and a menu will appear (Figure F5-1), select”
machine setting” (or click the shortcut tool the arrow icon oriented), the
following picture will appear (Figure F5-2):

If you want to change the parameters in machine, first, you must
select a right port, then click “open port”, and click “ read value”, now
we can correct the parameters.
Laser tube: a, import tube b, homemade tube。At present, our
company use homemade tube in our engraving machine, so here we
select homemade tube。If choosing homemade tube by mistake, there will
be a continuous lighting after turn on the machine.
Beam-electromotor: a, positive pole b, negative pole. The parameter
decides the moving position of the beam. Notice: the value is not
absolute, some machines are positive while others are negative. A correct
pole setting is on the parameter setting list in the left cover of the
machine.
Wheel-electromotor: a, positive pole b, negative pole. The
parameter decides the moving position of the wheel. Notice: the value is
not absolute, some machines are positive while others are negative. A
correct pole setting is on the parameter setting list in the left cover of the
machine.
Lift-electromotor: as beam-electromotor, at present, most of our
engraving machines do not have lift-electromotor, so you can select one
setting randomly, it does not affect the machine to work normally. If the

machine has lift-electromotor, you can get the information from
wheel-electromotor definition.
Reset test: a, positive b, negative. Normally, reset test come back to
the origin first, and then come back to the recent position point. If laser
head do not come back to the origin,or reset test abnormally, please
check the parameter setting, and compare to the parameter setting list.
Rapid edging: a, enable; b, disable. The parameter decides the
permission of rapid edge; different main board version has different
definition. A right setting compares to the setting list.
Electromotor acceleratory function: The acceleratory of the laser
head. The bigger the value is, the faster engraving machine accelerate,
the higher efficient is, but the result will not as good as a lower value. On
the other hand, if you reduce the value, the result will be better but
working efficient will reduce. An idea setting compares to the setting
list.
Laser light: the smallest value can be set when machine is working.
The value is different to different material. You can set the value from
0-10.
Port: select machine’s output port, required, or the data can’t be
output. Normally you can select COM3 or COM4 (you can search the
port in instrument manager).
(Beam) area: a max area that machine can move, the value is 600
except for GM535 350.
(Beam) Max speed: we advise you use 75. The value can influence
the working speed of the machine, the bigger, the faster, the smaller, and
the slower. You can define a speed compatible to you requirement.
(Beam) precision: this is the precision of the beam-electromotor, if
the value is wrong, it will cause a big problem that the output dimension
does not equal to the real dimension, the bigger the value is, the bigger
the output result is, while the smaller the value is, the smaller the output
result is. A right setting compares to the setting list.
(Wheel) area: a max area that machine can move, 535 series is 500,

and 960 series is 900, and 1200 series is 1200.
(Wheel): Max homemade electromotor sets 230; homemade
electromotor set 250 to 600(we advise you set 400). The value can
influence the working speed of the machine, the bigger, the faster, the
smaller, and the slower. You can define a speed compatible to you
requirement.
(Wheel) precision: this is the precision of the beam-electromotor, if
the value is wrong, it will cause a big problem that the output dimension
does not equal to the real dimension, the bigger the value is, the bigger
the output result is. While the smaller the value is, the smaller the output
result is. A right setting compares to the setting list.
Lift area: For many of our machines do not have lift, we can write in
any value smaller than the max value, we advise you to set 150.
Lift precision: you can set a value same to the wheel.
Laser worked: the value was produced by system, users can’t
rewrite, and the value does not affect the machine to work.
Carve Machine worked: the value was produced by system, users
can’t correct, and the value does not affect the machine to work.
After you have finished the setting, you must click “write value”, or
the setting is invalid. The parameters write in will work after reset test or
restart the machine.

Chapter 6 Operation Methods of Direct Output in
CorelDraw、AutoCAD
In order to make the operation more convenient and reduce
operation steps, our Company has developed the software that can help
you directly output graphics from CorelDraw11 and AutoCAD.
Section 1 Operation method to realize output in
CorelDraw11
1. System installing
Before using this system, CorelDraw11 must be installed correct;
installing steps can be found in appendix 2.
Instrument drive program installing (chapter 2 point 8)
Install Our software system (chapter 4)
Open our engraving software, and read the parameters of the machine.
Then, open the document “For CorelDraw11” in the disk which will be
given to you when you buy our machine, double click Install.exe to setup
this software, as shown in the following figure:

3. How to use this system
When you have opened CorelDraw11, our engraving control program

will appear at the right up corner of the window. (Figure F6-5), you can
use CorelDraw11 freely, it will not affect you normal work, when you
finished graphics, you can output to engraving machine directly.
4. Parameter setting
After finishing graphics, click “YueMing Laser” button (figure F6-5),
open engraving parameter setting window to set parameter. And this
system use color to manage output. As figure F6-6:

Select a certain color to set parameter, take “green” in the figure for
example, first select green, then click parameter setting on the right, open
the dialogue box of engraving setting, and set responsible value. As
figure F6-7:

After setting has finished, we can engrave now, you can store the

parameter setting in a certain file, and select “output”, open “output”
dialogue box, input correct file name and store path, then press ”ok”,
then we can store the file as YMC file, and when we need to output the
file, we can open this file directly. Using output and input setting
functions smartly, you can set different parameter on different materials.
At the same time, the system will remember the parameter output last
time. When you restart CorelDraw11, and process this system, the system
will use the parameter set last time.
After choose “engraving output”, open engraving output dialogue box,
as figure F6-8:

“Present position”: machine will carve from present position
“Origin output”: machine will carve from the recent position.
“Port”: select the dummy port in the instrumental manager of the
computer.
“Output to file”: output the present file to an OUT format file, and you

“Output directly”: output present graphics to machine directly.
5. Notice
When filling color to a graphic, we must choose default color plate
to fill color while not use self definition, for some errors may occur if we
use self definition to fill color.
To some directly input graphics, system may not accept and
consider it invalid (So we have to describe them), such as bitmap, GIF,
JPG, TIFF, etc, and we can’t change current graphics into bitmap either.
Art tool: if we do not convert it into curves, system will think it
invalid and can’t output.

Word edit: converts into curves, and output.
Interactive consonant tool: Forbidden, if it is used, system will
consider it invalid.
The meaning of parameter setting must be learned. Using
CorelDraw11 to output, it is convenient to widen graphic lines, so the
“repair” does not use in the property settings; and it is easy to know the
meaning of speed and graduation, they have the same meaning to other
versions of our software. What need to care is “top” and “depth”. Depth
is the power when laser work, the bigger it is, the deeper the result will
be; While top is used only to incline engraving, a depth will be left to
increase its abrasion.
In this software, cleaning is to fire out the curves with colors, so we
only need to define color to what we want to carve when we need
intaglio.
Relief engraving: we must draw a field around the content we need to
engraving, and we design a simple way to realize relief engraving. For
example, we first draw a rectangle or any other forms, then write a
paragraph of words, and put the words on the graphics drawn just now,
and fill the words with white color to emerge the words, finally group the
two graphics. Then we can output with relief engraving result now. Just
as above figure, we only need to define the engraving parameter of red
color.

After installing has completed, open the AutoCAD. Input
MENULORD in order line, open menu compile as following figure

After you have finished figures in CAD, you have two choices to
run our system:
Run YMLOAD in order lines.
Run YMLASER in menu bar, and click “engraving output”.

Intensity: 0-100%. 0%: use the strength parameter on the crystal
controller. 1-100%: output at a percentage of maximal power of laser
tube.
Speed: 0-100%. 0%: use the speed parameter on the crystal
controller. 1-100%: output at a percentage of max speed of the machine.
Repair: applying to engraving error (-0.5mm-0.5mm), when
operating to a closed graphic, the error is caused by the diameter of laser
line, we can adjust the error according to use this function. For example:
engraving a cycle with a 5mm diameter, if we do not use this function
and output, the real diameter of the cycle is 4.99mm, so we can input
0.01mm here, and the error will be reduced.
Carve sequence: use to set different sequence of color, the smaller
carve sequence is, the earlier it is output.
After parameter setting has finished, we can output graphics, system
will remember the setting of the last set. So we can use a useful setting
model, and have no need to set parameter every time. For instance, we
can set color red: intensity (50%, speed: 20%, no repair, carve sequence:
1), and the next time when we use red, the setting will be the same to the
above. If this does not meet customers’ requirement, we can set a certain
parameter to a certain graphic according to input and output.
Parameter output: when we need to output parameter setting to a file,
we select “output parameter”, and the following dialogue box will appear,
as figure F6-17:

Find a proper place to store the output file, default path is: CAD
installing list\YMLASER. Usually, we built a steady document to store
our CAD engraving file setting, after CAD file has opened, we select
input parameter, and input parameter of current file.
Input parameter: select” input parameter”, and input engraving
parameter setting of a graphic, as shown in figure F6-18:

Select “open”: open a certain parameter set, system will input
parameter setting to the present graphic automatically.
Instruction: system will accept the sequence in the parameter file as
the superior sequence, if the color is not defined before, system will set it

Parameter Notes:
Output position: the output position of present graphics on the
engraving machine. Two methods: present position and origin output,
present position is the position of laser head, origin output response to
the definitional point on the control plate.
Instruction: the dimension engraving machine output only relate to
the dimension in CAD, while has nothing to do with its position in CAD.
Port: the path used to transfer date from computer to engraving
machine. You can select it in the pulldown menu. (It must be the same to
the hub in computer instrumental manager.)
Output to file: output present graphic data to a certain file, and
response to “output from file”, if you do not want to output present
graphic and want to output from another file, you can use this working
model.
Directly output: make present graphic output to engraving machine
directly.
Notice about drawing in AUTOCAD:
Hidden layers and hidden graphic does not output, if you need to
output hidden layers and hidden graphic, you have to show it out.
All lines must be output in forms of solid, the lines does not need to
output such as annotation lines may forbid to output according to color
management or hide layer to avoid output.
Software grade:
The system runs right under WINDOWS 2000 and XP

(AUTOCAD2002 and ATUOCAD 2004), if you meet any problem in
other operational systems, please remind us, we will satisfy your
demand.
Having downloaded upgrade software, please reinstall it. What need
to accentuate is: when you refresh menu, you must delete the former our
menu group, and reinstall it.

Chapter 7 Light path straighten standards
The light path might change when we use engraving machine, and
lead no light or light path moved. Then you can solve the problem with
following methods.
Crossbeam: connected with the nozzle, this can be controlled by the
up and down button on the control panel.
Laser head: namely, the nozzle, which can be moved by the left and
right button on the control panel.
Step1: ensure the laser from the laser tube shines on the center of
the 1# reflecting mirror.
Set 2: paste a piece of sticky tape before the 2# mirror or other
material on which the laser can make a mark. Move the crossbeam to the
nearest point to the laser tube and then press the “pulse” button to make a
mark on the tape. (Attention: in order to avoid hurts, please use a piece of
pasteboard to locate the laser, then, adjust the light path.).
Step 3: move the crossbeam away from laser tube gradually and
press pulse to make a mark.

Step 4: if the two marks do not at the same point on the tape, you
can adjust 1#mirror and make the two marks overlap at the same point.
Step 5: redo step 2 to step 4 till the two marks overlap at the same
point.
Step 6: paste a piece of sticky tape before the 3# mirror or other
material on which laser can make a mark. Move the laser head to the
nearest point to the laser tube, the press the pulse button to make a mark
on the tape.
Step 7: move the laser head away from mirror 2# gradually and
press pulse, make a mark.

Step 8: if the two marks do not at the same point on the tape, you
can adjust 2#mirror and make the two marks overlap at the same point.
Step 9: redo step 6 to step 8 till the two marks overlap at the same
point.
Step 10: paste a piece of tape before 3# mirror. Press the pulse
button to make a mark on the tape. If the point is in the center of the hole,
we can finish it here now.
Step 11: If the laser does not in the center of the hole, as figure
F7-1:

In this example, the point moves outside and above a little.
Up-down error: heighten or lower the laser tube.
In and out error: adjust laser tube inside or outside.
In this example, we must lower the laser tube, and then redo the
adjustment from the first step.
Notice: All the works above must be done by trained staffs, or ask
correlative staffs for help. Be careful when adjusting and prevent laser
from hurting people.

Chapter 8 Daily maintains and familiar
faults analysis.
Correct operation and daily maintains play a significant role in
machine’s steady work. We will introduce some methods of daily
maintains and familiar faults analysis to you in following paragraphs:
(1). Daily maintains:
a. Water changing and water tank cleaning (we advise you to
change the water and clean water tank every week).
Caution: make sure that laser tube is filled with water before
work.
Water quality and temperature of cycle water affect the life of laser
tube; we advise you to use purified water or distilled water and control
the temperature below 35 centigrade. You need to change water or put
some ice into water when temperature is above 35 centigrade.
Water tank cleaning: turn off the power and pull out the water inlet
hose to let water flow out from laser tube automatically, then open water
tank and pick out water pump, cleaning the dirt on pump. Clean the water
tank and change cycle water, then put back the pump and connect water
inlet hose, turn on the power of pump only in order to fill the laser tube
with water for 2-3 minutes.
(2). Blower cleaning
A long-time used blower will accumulate solid dust, which will
cause big noise and un-smoothly exhaust. When blower works
un-smoothly, turn off the power and take off the two hoses, clean the dust
in it, then make blower handstand and rotate the vane to make it clean.
Reinstall the blower finally.
(3).Mirrors cleaning (we advise you to clean mirrors before work
everyday, machine must be power off)
In above introduction of our machine, we know that there are 3
reflection mirrors and a lens (1# reflection mirror is at the emit port of
laser tube, or top-left corner of the working platform, 2# reflection mirror
is at the left side of wheel, 3# reflection mirror is at the top of laser head

and the lens is at the bottom of drawtube), laser is emitted from the laser
tube and reflected by 3 mirrors and finally focused by lens. Mirrors are
easy to get dirt and cause lost of laser or destroying of mirrors. 1# and 2#
mirrors’ cleaning is easy, you have no need to take the mirror off and
only to wipe the mirror with professional paper dipped with cleaning
liquid carefully. 3# mirror and focus lens’ cleaning has to take them off,
and use the same method to wipe mirror carefully, finally reinstall them.
Caution:
A. Mirrors must be wiped carefully in order to avoid destroying
plating membrane on surface;
B, take the mirror gently to avoid dropping onto floor.
C, concave must face below when install focus lens.
(4). Cleaning of the orbit (we advise you to clean orbit twice a month,
machine is power off)
Caution: cleaning preparation –dry cotton, lubrication.
The orbits of engraving machine consist of straight orbit, trolley
orbit. In YM series, we adopt straight orbit on X direction and trolley
orbit on Y direction.
Cleaning of straight orbit: first move the laser head to the right (or
left) side, find the straight orbit as shown in above figure, use dry cotton
to wipe it clean and add some lubrication on it, move the laser head from
right to left slowly for times to make lubrication distribute equality.

Cleaning of trolley orbit: move the beam to inner side, open the
covers on both side of the machine, find the trolley orbit as shown in
above figure, use dry cotton to clean the osculant places, move beam to
another place to clean the rest place.
(5). Light path checking
Light path system is made up of 3 mirrors’ reflection and a lens’
focus. In this light path, lens doesn’t exist excursion while 3 reflection
mirrors are fixed mechanically, so the possibility of excursion is big, we
have to check light path before machine work.

Chapter 9 Statute for warranty
(1), warranty time
The production has a warranty time of 1 year from the date you
bought our machine except following wasting material:
a. Laser tube has a guarantee time of 3 months.
b. Optical mirrors and other wasting material were not included in
guarantee service.
(2), items for warranty:
a. Repairing objects include production sold by our Technology Co.
Ltm. You can enjoy free repairing service in warranty time if your
machine meets problems without any abnormal using. And you need to
show us the guarantee card or invoice when our maintenance man comes
to repair your machine.
(3). The following conditions do not take free service, and we will
change some money for different condition.
a. Repair service caused by non-quality reasons of device.
b. Warranty time has finished.
c. Can’t show guarantee card or alter guarantee card.
d. Do not carry out promised responsibility.
e. Reinstall, rebuild, and repair the machine without our company’s
permit.
f. Problems caused by man-made or force majeure reasons.
(4). Our company only bear law obligation of production itself sold
by us while not bear any responsibilities caused by using our production.
