Return Merchandise Authorization - An RMA is required for all units sent in for repair. Please call us at
508-652-0900 or email us at [email protected] to obtain an RMA number. Be sure to include the
serial number of your unit along with a description of the problem when requesting an RMA.
Packing – Please use the original factory box and packing when returning your unit. Factory replacement
boxes/packing is available for a nominal fee from Genelec if you no longer have the originals.
If you must box the unit yourself be sure it is double boxed with at least a 3” layer of bubble wrap on all
sides and make sure the unit cannot move around inside the packing. Please do not use newspaper,
styrofoam or packing peanuts.
Shipping – We use and recommend UPS Ground for shipping. Please be sure to mark the RMA # on
the outside of the return shipping box. We strongly recommend that you insure the shipment as Genelec
cannot be held responsible for any damage incurred in shipment to us.
Bench Fee - All out of warranty repairs are subject to $150.00 per unit bench fee ($75.00 for products
with LF drivers 4”
5 and under). The bench fee covers all labor required to diagnose and repair your unit. It
does not cover parts needed to complete the repair, return shipping or state sales tax. The bench fee is
payable prior to any diagnostic or repair work being performed. We will contact you for payment of the
bench fee when we physically receive your unit into our service center. Payment must be received within
5 (five) business days of receipt of the unit or it will be returned to you unrepaired.
Estimate – Once your unit has been diagnosed we will contact you with a repair estimate including the
bench fee, all parts required to complete the repair, return shipping and your local state sales tax. If you
decide not to proceed with the repair upon receipt of the estimate then a diagnostic fee of $50.00 (plus
return shipping) will apply. You will be refunded the bench fee, minus the diagnostic fee, at the time the
unit is shipped back to you.
Sales Tax – Genelec is registered to collect sales tax in most states. If you are reseller or are tax exempt
please provide a valid copy of your resale/exemption certificate at the time of payment.
Repair Time – Typical turnaround time is 3 to 5 business days and is dependent on workload and parts
availability. Please let us know in advance if you require a faster turnaround time and we will do our best
to accommodate you.
Repair Warranty – All repairs are warranted for a period of ninety (90) days.
