EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As per the B.Voc (BFSI) Curriculum at the 4th semester all students are required to
undergo a subject of Desk Research on equity for the period of 15 days and we all are completed this
Research in particular period. This project is basically about equity market.
The equity market is the most volatile market is difficult to understand as the
weather through this does not mean that the market cannot be predicted but it only means that trends
may change without warning
We learned about overall equity market including, demat account opening process,
how to buy & Sell Shares, portfolio management, paper trading etc. Before we visit this Religare
broking Ltd office we all Create a group and Reached our HOD Sir and they give some instruction
and we all are Followed all their instructions strictly. This project is about understanding the data and
facts about the particular, companies’ shares, market volatility.
On the visiting the Religare broking limited we seen there many computer &
employees. they always watch on this computer screen & shows the market fluctuations means stock
market index, companies names, there shares, price volume & figures this project explains the various

INDUSTRY PROFILE
A stock market, equity market, or share market is the aggregation of buyers and sellers of stocks (also
called shares), which represent ownership claims on businesses; these may include securities listed
on a public stock exchange, as well as stock that is only traded privately, such as shares of private
companies which are sold to investors through equity crowdfunding platforms. Investment is usually
made with an investment strategy in mind.
• Security
A term security is used for financial instruments that can be treated in financial markets these
financial instruments including stocks, bonds, debentures. Securities are tradable financial
instruments which can be used to raise capital in public and private market.
1) Equity -
Equity is the amount of capital invested by the owner of company. In simple words equity for
shareholders is equal to total assets minus total liabilities.
Features of Equity:
a) Redeeming Capital
If you have purchased the shares from a company then the only you can claim the companies
value in case of liquidation. Another way to get return on investment on equity is dividend,
and trade the share when its value is increase than your purchase price.
b) Voting rights
Equity shareholders possess voting rights and select the company’s management.
c) Limited liability
Ordinary shareholders of the company are not directly impacted by the loss of company They
only feel the impact of depreciation of the value of shares they hold, which would impact on
their net worth and their profit turning prospect.

Types of Equity:
Following are the types of Equity
a) Shares:
The units of particular ownership in company are known as shares. They are traded over the
designated stock exchanges are National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock
Exchange (BSE).
b) Equity mutual fund Investments: Mutual fund investment is the diversified method of
investment where capital is collected from various investors and investors fund in
management by fund manager. Based on market capitalisation equity mutual fund is divided
into following types
c) Equity Future: These are investment instruments where investor have an obligation of
purchasing or selling underlining asset at predetermined price. Equity future generally come
with an expiry period of three month and the settlement day is last Thursday of third month.
d) Equity Option: Equity options are akin to the future where parties involve are not legally
obliged to follow up on their agreement.
e) Arbitrage scheme: Arbitrage refers to the process of buying and selling securities in different
exchanges. Investors can invest in arbitrage funds which are equity-oriented fund with
primary investment in equities, debt or money market instruments.
f) Alternative fund investment: Individual can choose to invest in equity instruments through
alternative funds which comprise different pooled in investment funds that primarily invest in
hedge funds, venture capital, manage future and private equity.
Advantages of Equity:
There are several advantages of Equity. Investing in equity provides high return to the investor.
Investing in equity is one type of hedge against inflation because investor in equity earn high return.
Investment in shares us easy for investors. Investor can avail the service of stock broker or investment
planner for investment. Individual can buy or sell shares in few minutes if he/she has knowledge to
use demat account.
Disadvantages of Equity:
Equity also has few disadvantages some of them are Investigating in equity have high market risk.
An investor can risk to losing their entire investment corpus by investing in equity. As a result of
return from investment is not according to the acceptations of investors there is high risk. Alsodue to
liquidity risk investor sell their shares at very low price than its market value.

2) Bond:
A bond is a one type of loan to the company or government. It gives a fix rate of return to the investor
on their investments. Bond are helps us to balance the risk because of their safety.
Features of Bond:
a) Face value
Face value implies the price of a single unit of bond issued by an enterprise. Principal,
Nominal or per value is used alternatively to refer to the price of bond. Under the legal
obligation to return this value to the investor after stipulated period.
c) Tenure of bond
The period after which bond mature is known as tenure. These bonds with maturity period
below than 5 years are call short term bond, between 5-12 years are called mid-term bonds
and the maturity period for long term bond is more than 12 years.
Types of Bonds:
Follow are the types of bonds
a) Fixed interest bond
Fixed interest bonds are the debt instruments which gives the consists interest rate benefit to
the investor.
b) Floating interest bond
In floating interest bonds investor get return according to the market fluctuation and elastic
within their tenure.
c) Inflation linked bonds
Inflection link bonds are special debt instrument designed to control the impact of economic
inflation on the face value and interest rate of the bond
Advantages of Bonds:
Investment in bonds is advantageous to the investor because bonds are long term investment
option gives stability and guaranteed returns to the customer in comparison to other investments
option. Bonds gives higher interest rates than bank deposits also we can use the government bonds as
a collateral security when applying for loan to bank.
Disadvantages of Bonds
In case of bond investment, a company’s bond holder may lose their money if the
companies go bankrupt. There is no guarantee of how much money will remain to repay bondholder
on their investments. Bond price can fluctuate depending on the issuers credit rating

1) NSE
National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) is the leading stock exchange under the ownership
of various group of domestic and global financial institutions, public and privately owned entities and
individuals. It is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra It is the world’s largest derivatives exchange in
2021 by number of contracts traded based on the statistics maintained by Futures Industry Association
(FIA), a derivatives trade body. NSE is ranked 4 in the world in cash equities by number of trades as
per the statistics maintained by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) for the calendar year 2021.
It is under the ownership of some leading financial institutions, banks, and insurance companies. NSE
was established in 1992 as the first dematerialized electronic exchange in the country. NSE was the
first exchange in the country to provide a modern, fully automated screen-based electronic trading
system that offered easy trading facilities to investors spread across the length and breadth of the
country.

2) BSE
BSE Limited, also known as the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), is an Indian stock exchange and is
the leading stock exchange under the ownership of Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It is
located on Dalal Street in Mumbai Established in 1875 by cotton merchant Premchand Roychand, a
Jain businessman. it is the oldest stock exchange in Asia and also the tenth oldest in the world. The
BSE is the 8 largest stock exchange with an overall market capitalisation in the world with more than
276.713 lakh crore, as of January 2022.

Listing Procedure for NSE and BSE
Listing of securities can be done in either Capital Market or Wholesale Debt Market. There is a NSE
and BSE Listing procedure to be followed but before that lets look at the eligibility requirement.

application to NSE for admission of their securities in the prescribed forms and fees, if any.

The equity market is a marketplace for traders where they buy or sell stocks.
Investors can invest in public or private stocks. Public stocks are traded on exchanges, unlike private
stocks which are traded privately. Initially, when an organization is set up it is private and later it
goes on to launch its IPO IPO launch makes the private company available for public investors.
Whereas private stocks of a company are available to limited investors like employees or other
specific traders
Companies get listed on stock exchanges with a motive to earn capital from public
investors and use it for their growth or expansion. On contrary to equity financing debt financing
involves loans and other borrowing methods to earn capital.
Equity is synonyms of stocks; equity market is highly volatile market. In this market 8000

Mutual fund is a one type of investment mutual fund regulator basically SEBI they watch on
investment. Many assets management company provide this service or also bank provide these
services. In mutual fund is related to equity market, investor invest their money from mutual fund to
share market indirectly. Investor give their money to mutual fund manager and he study about the
company and after invest the money in particular company. Mutual fund is diversified portfolio
/investments means one investor amount invest different companies. Also fund manager Handel this

the company balance sheet profit and loss statement, cash flow statements excreta.
For company study our first choice is TATA MOTORS in automobile sector.
We found in TATA MOTARS balance sheet their liabilities and their asset are also same in past 4
year. Generally, assets and liabilities ratio is 2:1 but here is this ratio is 1:1

In profit and loss statement March 2020 to March 2022 sale has increased and their expansion is
growing. But they not generating a profit. TATA MOTORS share on earning per share is also
negative and they not give dividend for their investor.
We choice the FMCG sector for our next company study in this sector we choice that
HINDUSTAN UNILEVER, because in our daily life you and me all are use this company’s product
like toothpaste, detergent powder, soap excreta.
In this balance sheet we found their liabilities and assets also same and their assets increasing every
year respect the generating a profit every year and their earning per share I'd increasing respective
and also, they give high dividend for their investors. This companies cash flow statements from March
2021 to March 2022 is also negative.

Our last task is mutual fund study Mutual fund is a type of investment for middle class people and
common people because they don't take a large amount of money. They earn money for fulfil basic
need. In this condition they not able for investing purpose so for this people mutual fund is best
option for investment and they start investment from very low amount here

Share market is not a dangerous but his very dangerous because people entry in market without study

because it's a depend on your psychology.
You invest your money for long term period and you generate a high profit.
