PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Crown varnish stains is a high performance epoxy resin based clear varnish
supplied in two-pack form, suitable for interior use.

Uses: Protection and decoration of interior wooden furniture.

Finish: Gloss

Thinner & equipment cleaner: White Spirit

Dilution Ratio: Supplied ready for use. Minimal thinning, up to 5% by volume


Crown White Spirit for 1st coat work, on bare timber, or for spray application.
Avoid over-thinning as this will affect the final appearance. Stir well before use.

Drying Times: Touch dry: 4 hours. Recoatable: in 14 hours in dry, well


ventilated conditions.

APPLICATION DATA:

The product can be applied by: Brush or spray

Spreading Capacity per coat: Depends on film thickness applied, type of


texture, surface porosity, imperfections, temperature & wastage during
painting.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE


Surface preparation & Paint System:
New and Bare woodwork - Ensure surface is dry and free of oil/ grease and any
other contaminants. Sand down along the grain to a smooth surface with
P180/240 /320 grit sandpaper and dust off thoroughly.

Primer - Crown Varnish Stain diluted up to 5% by volume with White Spirit OR


Sanding Sealer diluted up to 50% by volume with Standard Thinner.

Topcoat - 1 – 2 coats Crown Varnish Stain undiluted

Previously coated wood - Remove previous coat with sandpaper till bare wood
Primer - Crown Varnish Stain diluted up to 5% by volume with White Spirit OR
Sanding Sealer diluted up to 50% by volume with Standard Thinner.

Topcoat - 1 – 2 coats crown varnish stain undiluted

Precautions:
1. Stir paint thoroughly before use and intermittently during use to avoid
settling
2. Avoid the use of cheap solvents as these may affect gloss or drying time
3. Do not overcoat with 2-pack type varnishes as these would lead to peeling off
the varnish

SAFETY AND PRECAUTIONS


Wear protective clothing during use. In case of splashes into your eyes wash
with clean water and seek medical advice. Clean equipment immediately after
use with clean water. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
INCASE OF SPILLAGE
Soak with inert material e.g., sand, silica gel, acid binder sawdust, and place in
clean empty containers. Dispose in accordance with environmental regulations.
Do not empty paint into drains or waterways.
