All About UGC NET
The National Eligibility Test Agency for the benefit of the
(NET), otherwise called UGC University Grants Commission
NET or NTA-UGC-NET, is the (UGC). Till July 2018, the Central
assessment for deciding the Board of Secondary Education
qualification for the post of (CBSE) led the UGC NET test,
Assistant Professor and addition- which the NTA has been directing
ally Junior Research Fellowship since December 2018. Usually,
(JRF) in Indian Colleges and the test is done twice a year in
Universities. The assessment is the months of June & December
directedby the National Testing via online mode.
4. The PhD degree holders whose Masters level examination had been
completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration
of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e.,
from 55% to 50%) for appearing in NET.
5. JRF (Age Limit): Not more than 30 years as of 01.06.2023. There are a few
relaxations as well.
6. Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for candidates to apply for
UGC NET (Assistant Professor).

How to Maximise Your
Score in UGC NET Paper-I?
Paper-I of UGC NET is a common test different sections, and all carry an equal
for all students. It includes basic weightage of 10 marks. If you score
teaching aptitude, research aptitude, well in Paper-I, then your chances of
higher studies, communication, cracking the exam increase because
reasoning, & general awareness of Paper-I is comparatively easier and has
several areas. The syllabus has 10 higher scoring than Paper-II.

Go through the syllabus in-depth, and focus on only the topics covered
in the syllabus, it is easy to get distracted and sometimes study more
than what is required
Prepare a timetable that suits your schedule. Make sure you give
equal importance to all the topics for Paper 1, since they all carry the
same weightage
Ensure that you follow the timetable regularly. Try to combine one
difficult topic and one easy topic for a day to make your day less tiring.
Mock tests will also help you figure out your strong and weak areas.
Fine-tune your preparation accordingly so that you can fetch more
