(VI) Long answer type questions (Any five) (4x5=20)
1. What is meant by doping of semiconductor? How does doping affect the conductivity? .
2. Prove that the current flowing through the coil of moving coil galvanometer is directly proportional to the
deflection of the coil.
3. A 3.0 cm wire carrying a current of 10 A is placed inside a solenoid perpendicular to its axis. The magnetic
field inside the solenoid is given to be 0.27 tesla.What is the magnetic force on the wire
4. Write the principle of Wheat Stone Bridge and prove it.
Or
State Coulomb’s inverse square law of electrostatic charges. On this basis define unit charge. What is the
condition for the law to be applicable?
5. What is Ohm’s law? On what factors does the resistance of a conductor depend upon?.
Or
Prove that the capacity of an isolated spherical conductor is directly proportional to its radius. Explain the
principle of condenser.
6. How AND and NOT gate can be obtained from NAND gate? State symbol, Boolean formula and truth table.
Or
Clarify the operation and logic symbol of each NOR and OR gate.
7. What is the meaning of Shunt? If the current is flowing in a Shunt connected with a galvanometer is n times
the current following in the galvanometer. Prove that the resistance of Shunt S = G / n -1, If the resistance of
galvanometer is G.
(VII) Answer the following Questions (Any Two) (5x 2=10)
1. Explain the concept of P-N junction diode. Describe its use as full wave rectifier under following points
i. Labeled circuit diagram. ii. Working iii. Graph of input and out voltage with variation of time.

2. The capacities of two conductors are C1 & C2 resp. Q1 and Q2 charges are given to them, their potentials
becomes V1 and V2 resp. If they are connected by a wire. Calculate the following.
i. Common potential ii. Loss of energy

3. (i) The electrostatic force on a small sphere of charge 0.4 μC due to another small sphere of charge -0.8 μC in
air is 0.2N.
(a) What is the distance between the two spheres?
(b) What is the force on the second sphere due to the first?

(ii) In a parallel plate capacitor with air between the plates, each plate has an area of 6 x 10 -3 m2 and the
distance between the plates is 3mm. Calculate the capacitance of the capacitor. If the capacitor is connected
to 100V supply, what is the charge on each plate of the capacitor?
