As a voter educator for the Kenya General Election of 2022 , my roles included:
Raising awareness about the importance of voting: My primary role was to
educate individuals and communities of Garissa County ,Kenya about the
importance of voting and how it impacts their lives and the broader society.
Providing information on voting procedures: I was tasked with informing voters
on the various procedures involved in the voting process, such as voter
registration, early voting, and election day voting.
Educating voters on the candidates and issues: I provided objective and
nonpartisan information about the 2022 election candidates, their positions on
issues, and their qualifications.
Ensuring voting rights wereprotected: I educated voters about their
rights,including their right to vote without intimidation or harassment, and
helped them understand the voting laws and regulations that protect their rights.
Providing resources and support: I provided resources and support to voters who
faced barriers to voting, such as language barriers, physical disabilities, or lack of
transportation.
