1.4 Reason
A utility is available which will transfer checklist and configuration files as necessary to load updated
versions of the Checklist data files. This Service Bulletin describes the applications and instructions
for its use.
1.5 Description
This Service Bulletin describes the use of the MFD Checklist Data Loader Utility, part number 570-
00055-000. If the software part number of the utility checklist files matches the software part number
of the destination MFD, the Checklist Data Loader Utility deletes any existing checklists on the MFD,
uploads new checklists from the USB flash device and sets configuration settings as appropriate to
enable use of the newly loaded checklists.
IMPORTANT
Any Checklists previously loaded on the MFD will be removed when loading new
checklists.
1.7 Approval
The engineering data underlying the accomplishment instructions contained in Section 3 are FAA
approved. No other portion of this service bulletin is FAA approved.
1.12 Reference
None
3. Accomplishment Instructions
1. _____ With the MFD installed in the aircraft and powered off, attach the USB data loader to
the data loader port on the MFD.
2. _____ Apply power to the MFD and, if using zip loader, wait for the FlightMAX logo screen
with the black background to appear or 10 seconds to elapse (whichever comes first)
and then insert the Zip disk with appropriate Checklist Loader Utility into the data
loader. If you receive any error messages during the execution of this procedure,
proceed to section 3.2.3.
3. _____ After the utility has started, a confirmation screen will be displayed:
4. _____ Press proceed to continue and replace your existing checklist files with the files from
the USB dataloader. Note: pressing cancel will exit the utility and keep the current
checklist files.
6. _____ Once the Utility has finished the following similar screen will be presented:
7. _____ Remove the USB data loader and then press any bezel key.
9. _____ Enter the Aircraft Setup page by pressing the Aircraft Setup button.
10. _____ An aircraft setup page similar to the following will be displayed:
Check software compatibility. Verify that the MFD Software part number is an approved version
(see section 1.2)
If Software is compatible, check USB data loader connector for dirt or other obstructions, recopy the
utility to the loader and try again. If the utility still does not run, reload the files to a different USB
data loader.
The utility does not contain the correct checklists for your aircraft. Obtain the correct utility for your
aircraft.
A required file on the USB dataloader is either missing or corrupted. There are three required files
for proper operation of the utility: InfoConfig.txt, AviUtil.dat and AviUtility.exe. Recopy all files. If
the problem persists, it may be indicative of a problem with the USB dataloader.
Other error messages may be indicative of a more serious problem. It is recommended that you
contact Avidyne if any other error messages appear.
4. Post-Accomplishment Checkout
To confirm proper operation in an aircraft:
1. _____ Apply avionics power and allow the MFD to fully initialize.
2. _____ Verify that the Checklist version number listed on the MFD Startup screen or AUX
page is as expected.
3. _____ Verify that an MFD CHKLST page is present
4. _____ Turn to the CHKLST page, and select each checklist in turn to verify that all are
available.
5. _____ Retain the Checklist Dataloader. It may be used again (with no limit) for future
Checklist loading to other MFD’s containing the same software part number.
