MY REPORT SELECTION OF SPEAKING AND WRITING MATERIAL
Mastering communication skills is essential when learning English or any other
language. These skills are crucial for effectively acquiring and using a new
language. They encompass the ability to understand and produce written and
oral texts, as well as interact fluently in real-life situations. The fundamental
skills include writing, reading, listening, and speaking, each playing a vital role
in the language learning process.
However, the expert guidance of a teacher is indispensable. Educators play a
key role in selecting, implementing, and evaluating the most appropriate tools
for students, employing methods and strategies to facilitate learning, and
providing individualized support according to each student's needs. The goal is
to help students maximize their potential in the language learning process,
fostering motivation and encouraging autonomous learning.
That's why I use speaking and writing comprehension materials, considering the
level (Upper intermediate) and interests of my teenage students, and selecting
a topic for each skill. Taking into account the three phases in the development
of a class or activity:
Pre: Engages the student's prior knowledge.
While: Assists the student in understanding the topic.
Post: Provides space for analysis, reflection, and expressing viewpoints.
By following this structured approach, I aim to create a comprehensive learning
environment that supports the diverse needs of my students, helping them to
develop their English communication skills effectively.
SPEAKING SKILL
Enhancing speaking skills is crucial for clear and persuasive communication.
This involves good pronunciation, fluency, and effective interaction. Activities
like debates, presentations, and role-playing encourage practice in real-life
contexts. Continuous feedback and positive reinforcement help students gain
confidence and improve their speaking abilities.
WRITING SKILL
Developing writing skills is essential for students to express their ideas clearly
and effectively. This includes learning to structure coherent paragraphs, plan
their writing, and revise their texts. Activities such as essay writing, summaries,
and journal entries help students practice. Regular practice and constructive
feedback are key to building confidence and proficiency in writing.

Topic: The Power of Purpose
A presentation on motivation will be organized. It is a topic that attracts attention
because, in a way, the concept and its various perspectives allow for the
interaction of different ideas that each student may have.
Motivation is important because it drives us to achieve our goals, helps us stay
focused and persistent, and enables us to overcome obstacles. Encouraging a
presentation on this topic will help students appreciate and better understand
the importance of being motivated in various aspects of life, from studies and
work to personal and recreational activities.
