Having food security is the ability to have conditions for everyone. To improve
a reliable access to a suitable quantity of global health, we must ensure everyone

Food security is the condition of having

access to food. People without food

families. In that sense, food security is

essential for everyone. In the past few
decades, many countries have adopted
policies to improve their citizens’ food
security. Through these efforts, we can
increase global food security and reduce
world hunger.
THE
STATISTICS
AND TRUTH
In the early 1900s, high food prices and low food
production forced millions of people from their
homelands as famine raged across Europe and
Asia. The United Nations began setting up
international aid organizations to help people
with food deficits. These organizations include
the World Food Program (WFP), which helps
people in need with donated food and funds for
supplementary supplies. One of the WFP’s
primary goals is to stop famine in its tracks.
According to UNICEF, an estimated 45.5 million
children under age five are moderately or
severely underweight at 2020— a sign that many
children don’t have enough to eat. To improve
global food security, we must work towards
ending world hunger and underweight children
worldwide.

A global food movement is a collective effort on

behalf of all humans to improve global food
security through awareness campaigns, charity
work and technology development. Global peace
activist Nelson Mandela once said that “food
should be available at all times… irrespective of
race or religion." Nelson Mandela knew that
peaceful tension over scarce resources was
destructive— hence his call for an international
peace movement towards addressing world
hunger and underweight children worldwide."

Several NGOs are working towards this goal,

including Save the Children which promotes
sustainable agriculture practices in developing
countries so there is no more hunger or
malnutrition worldwide! To promote a global
food movement, we must raise awareness about
how our eating habits affect everyone’s health
and well-being worldwide!
FOOD
INSECURITY
Poverty is a worldwide problem; there are
over 6 billion people living on less than $2
per day at present rates of inflation. It’s
impossible to live without any money
whatsoever—even if you have access to
plenty of food. The majority of the world’s
people who live in poverty live in rural
areas where there isn’t enough work
available for all able-bodied people
without access to income or resources
from other sources, such as charity or
family members who can afford to give
them income or gifts such as food or
housing. Rural areas also tend not to have
access to medical services compared with
urban areas where medical services are
nearly everywhere and very easy to
access. where poverty is more common
and health conditions worsen faster due to
lack of income and unhealthy diets.
The Case of 3rd World Countries
Food insecurity is a complex issue that
encompasses a multitude of problems. In
the United States, roughly 130 million
people struggle with food insecurity. Other
countries with high rates of food insecurity
include Pakistan, Bangladesh, Syria and

Guatemala. Food insecurity can occur

when individuals don't have access to
affordable and nutritious food. Various
factors contribute to this problem,
including economic downturns, droughts,
natural disasters and public health
campaigns. Therefore, addressing food
insecurity is a difficult task that requires
creativity and determination.
FOOD
INSECURITY
PT.2
Food is an essential component of our
daily lives. We primarily obtain food
through farming or purchasing goods at
markets. Food insecurity refers to the lack
of access to healthy food, and can have
severe effects on the health of individuals
and communities. In rural areas, food
insecurity is primarily caused by
inadequate transportation, low wages and
low availability of land for farming. In
urban areas, low wages and high prices at
markets contribute to food insecurity.
Food assistance programs help eradicate
food insecurity by supplementing low-
income families with healthy food options.

Food insecurity occurs mostly in rural

areas due to low economic development,
low wages and low availability of land for
farming. Low economic development in
rural areas causes low wages for
agricultural workers. This makes it difficult
for families to afford healthy foods.
Additionally, transportation issues cause
delays in delivering goods to rural areas,

which keeps food from becoming

affordable to families. To combat these
issues, governments should invest in rural
areas to promote economic growth and
increase wages for agricultural workers.
FOOD
SECURITY
Food can be produced from many sources, including
natural resources, livestock and agriculture
innovations. Certain countries have large natural
resources like petroleum or natural gas. These
resources enable food production by providing fuel for
transportation and manufacturing new products.
Additionally, weather patterns can also contribute to a
country's food security. For example, a country with a
cold climate can produce more food from agricultural
sources than one with a hot climate. However, not
everyone uses food production methods from
agriculture or natural resources to feed its people.
Instead, some people still go hungry despite having
access to food sources of wealth.
Rural development is another factor that determines
how much food a country produces. This includes
infrastructure and educational reforms that help rural
areas succeed economically. Governments can direct
this development towards agriculture through rural
development schemes. This encourages rural areas to
succeed by providing them with tools and education
needed to produce food. When successful farmers
become successful businessmen, countries gain more
vital supplies of food.
Another way countries can meet their need for food is
by cultivating international trade relationships. They
can do this by exporting goods to foreign countries and
importing food back home in return. Exporting goods
allows countries to earn foreign currency which they
can use to buy imported food- whether it be through
barter or grant-based programs. International trade
relationships also allow countries to sell excess goods -

such as excess grain - which helps them cover the costs

of shipping their products overseas.
Taking into consideration natural resources, rural
development and international trade relationships
helps countries produce enough food for their people.
However, most countries have been unsuccessful at
implementing these strategies on a large scale. The fact
remains that many people still go hungry despite having
access to natural resources and developed rural areas.
