HEALTH
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. Creating safe and supportive environments for individuals to express their gender identity
and sexuality without fear of judgment or harm,
b. Providing accurate information and fostering awareness about gender, sexuality, and related
topics to combat stereotypes and misconceptions,
c. Encouraging accurate and positive representation of diverse gender identities and sexual
orientations in media, entertainment, and communication channels.

In today’s discussion, we are about to learn the Gender & Human


Sexuality.

Good day! How are you? Are you ready to listen? Well, if you are
ready, have fun and enjoy!

What is SEXUALITY? (Students’ will listen)


 A basic part of what we do and who we are; it is the way in
which we experience and express ourselves as sexual beings.
It is the entire expression of an individual’s self-concept.

HEALTHY SEXUALITY
 Taking high sense of responsibility for all your actions since
this can affect self-esteem, decision-making, and behavior.
HEALTHY SEXUALITY
HEALTH ATTITUDES THAT INFLUENCE SEXUAL
BEHAVIOR
SELF
•Appreciates own body.
•Takes responsibility for own behaviors.
•Knowledgeable about sexuality issues.

FAMILY
•Communicates effectively with family.
•Able to express love to your family members.
•Perform your duties and responsibilities at home.
PEERS
•Express love and intimacy in appropriate ways
•Have the skills to evaluate readiness for mature relationship
•Interact with both genders in appropriate and respectful ways
•Respect both gender in all aspects

 It is a social concept on how men and women should think,


feel, and act.
 It refers to femininity or masculinity of a person’s role and
behavior as defined by society.
GENDER EQUALITY
 Grants man and woman equal enjoyment of human rights.
GENDER ROLE
 Refers to certain roles, characteristics, and expectations of how
a person should feel, think, and act as influenced by parents,
peers, and society.
SEXUAL BEHAVIOR STANDARDS
 Behaviors that have come to be accepted by society.
DOUBLE STANDARD OF MORALITY
 Boys and girls are given the impression of men being superior
to women.
 In as much as we would like to practice gender equality, the
roles for human conduct and human appropriateness are not
alike for both sexes as practiced in most areas in the
Philippines.
Examples
 Men who stay at home to do household chores instead of
having jobs to earn money for the family are considered by
some as “under ‘d saya.”
 Men showing weakness are considered girly.
 Cooking foods is always delegated to women than men.
 Engineering courses are seldom taken by the women.

E. Generalization

 Generalization in the context of gender and human sexuality


refers to making broad assumptions or stereotypes about
individuals based on their gender or sexual orientation. It's
important to recognize that people are diverse and unique, and
generalizations can perpetuate harmful biases and
misunderstandings. Understanding and respecting the
complexity and individuality within gender and sexuality is
crucial for fostering an inclusive and empathetic society.
