2. Discuss and expound how inclusive education works and its benefits.
Every learner deserves to have an equitable and quality education for all, this means no learners shall be left behind especially those who
needs special attention. Students with learning disability may also succeed academically when given the right way of learning intervention and
strategies. Although it might be tough for many teachers, it is needed to make our teachings fits in different situations or conditions of our learners.
Drills could be helpful in these students so that as the time comes, they can now work independently and might be able to have the same skills
together with the normal learners. Inclusive education is beneficial for the reason that it helps teachers to improve more in dealing learners with
special conditions. Moreover, inclusive education removes biases and elevate understanding of many people that even challenged learners can play
a significant role in our community.
4. Can inclusion truly work? How about the collaboration of home and school does it truly works?
Indeed, home and school works in developing a child, not only for those with normal condition but most especially to those challenged
learners. Teachers and the parents must have to collaborate and share the condition of the child for proper teaching strategies that could be
applied by the teacher inside the school. Evaluation should be done immediately and reported to parents so that there will be a continuous
intervention at home therefore the child will have a consistent learning that could take place and change his life day by day.
In my own perspective, dealing on learners with special needs requires teacher centered approach. It is different from many public schools
which the teacher serves as a facilitator of learning but with the learners having special conditions, it is needed that the teachers should stand
and feed the knowledge and skills that should be adopt by these students.
Canters perspective in teaching is that teachers have the right to decide what is best for his/her learners and no student should prevent any other
form of learning. It also directed to the theory of B.F. Skinner that focuses on the positive and negative reinforcement. If the rule of the teacher is
met the teacher will give a good reinforcement for a positive behavior. However, this type of teaching strategy is no longer applied in most of the
public school today. Nowadays, teacher becomes a facilitator of learning, students tend to explore or unfold all the knowledge and skills that they
have to acquire. According to many theories if there is a firsthand interaction to the knowledge and skills to be learn, there are greater chances of
retention to the minds of the learners. Hence, in the cases of students with special learning needs it would be different Lee canter’s approach is
essential in teaching and learning process since most of the learners needed special assistance to learn. These learners cannot stand alone for
developing the necessary skills and the teacher must be in control.
