when the power of the EJ-210 is turned OFF and back ON is performed.
NOTE
When setting the ID number, ensure that the same number is not duplicated on the
network (M-NET3).
If the ID number is duplicated, a communication error may occur across the entire
network.
The ID numbers of boilers (EJ-210) must be serial numbers.
Example) When MI control is performed for 3 boilers
No. 1 boiler: ID No. 01, No. 2 boiler: ID No. 02, No. 3 boiler: ID No. 03

3.2 Backup Battery Check
Before turning ON the EJ-210, check that the backup battery (lithium battery) inside the control box
is connected properly.
The battery life is approximately 3 years. Therefore, replace the battery every 3 years.
Note: When this item is set to “Manual”, “M ” flashes in the second digit from the right in the
upper row of the display in the Status Monitor mode.
19
MIURA_CONFIDENTIAL
Note: Information that is not disclosed to the user is displayed when this item is set to “Yes”.
Therefore, after maintenance has ended, be sure to set this item to “No”, and ensure that
flashing of “M ” in the second digit from the right in the upper row of the display is
cleared.
However, if “MI control” is set to “No” in the Maintenance Setting mode, the flashing
“M ” does not appear. (Refer to “(1) MI control” in “3.3.2Settings in the Maintenance
Setting Mode”.)
20
MIURA_CONFIDENTIAL
3.3.2 Settings in the Maintenance Setting Mode
Make settings with regard to specifications of connected boilers and the MI control function.
(1) MI control
Set this item to “Yes” if MI control operation is to be performed by the boiler system
operation panel BP-201.
Set this item to “No” if combustion control is to be performed based on the pressure setting
value set in the boiler or the EJ-210. Combustion control is performed in the boiler alone,
separately from MI control.
Note: If this item is set to “No”, the flashing “M ” does not appear in the second digit from
the right in the upper row of the display in the Status Monitor mode.
21
MIURA_CONFIDENTIAL
22
MIURA_CONFIDENTIAL
(9) Priority combustion time after blowdown
This is the time period when priority combustion is performed to accelerate boiler water
concentration after a blowdown. Priority combustion is performed until the total high fire
converted time (the total combustion time when “Boiler combustion control” is set to
“ON/OFF”) from the time when a blowdown is performed reaches this setting value.
Set the time period during which priority combustion must be performed after a blowdown.
The setting value is disabled when “Blowdown notification” is set to “No” in a boiler other
than the boilers with a BG-type, BK-type, BL-type, and XJ1-type controller mounted.
Note that in the EJ-210, priority combustion is performed by judging that a blowdown has
been performed under the following conditions.
Table 3-2: Blowdown implementation judgment conditions
Blowdown implementation judgment condition
Boiler controller
(OR condition)
Boiler with a BG-type or The “BLOWDOWN” lamp on the boiler display turns OFF.

Boiler with a BG-type or The “Blow” button of the EJ-210 is pressed and held for 3
XJ1-type controller mounted seconds.
(With a high concentration (This is a special operation and proper care must be
blowdown valve) taken when explaining to the customer.)
Boiler with a BK-type or BL-type The F800-01 alarm (blowdown setting time exceeded)
controller mounted judged at the boiler side is reset.
The “Blow” button is pressed when blowdown timing has
been judged in the EJ-210 (“B” is displayed at the
Boiler other than the above
rightmost digit in the upper row of the display when
blowdown timing is judged.)
24
MIURA_CONFIDENTIAL
3.3.3 Settings in the User Operation Mode
Make settings for items which can be set by the customer
Make the settings described below.
(2) Calendar
In the case of a boiler with a BG-type, BK-type, BL-type, and XJ1-type controller mounted,
the current time of the boiler is set automatically through communication, and therefore, it is
not necessary to set the time in the EJ-210.
Check that the time matches the current time of the boiler.
In a boiler other than the above, set the year, month, day, hour, and minute of the current
time.
Note: If a date that does not exist in calendar settings is set, the display switches to the
calendar settings (year) even when the “Data” button is pressed and held for 2
seconds, and the display does not switch from the User Operation mode to the Status
Monitor mode as usual. Set the correct current time (year, month, day, hour, and
minute).
25
MIURA_CONFIDENTIAL
3.4 Boiler Pressure Settings
When performing MI control of a boiler, make pressure settings for the boiler itself.
As for the boiler pressure setting, it is necessary to set a slightly higher pressure value so that MI
control by the boiler system operation panel BP-201 (and the EJ-210) is not hindered.
To ensure that all conditions of boiler pressure settings shown below are satisfied, set the pressure
based on the boiler steam pressure switch or steam pressure sensor.
Note 1: The upper-limit pressure for MI control indicates the upper limit of the pressure range in
which boiler combustion can be performed for MI control, and “Upper-limit pressure for MI
control” is equal to “Proportional distribution pressure”.
Note 2: If the high setting pressure is close to the upper-limit pressure for MI control, steam pressure
sensor error or loss of header or boiler pressure can cause the boiler to enter combustion
standby at the set boiler pressure.
In such a case, set the boiler high setting pressure higher than the upper-limit pressure for
MI control in view of the pressure loss and sensor error. As a guide, set the pressure to
0.049 MPa (7 PSI) or more.
26
MIURA_CONFIDENTIAL
4. OPERATION CHECK
4.1 Checking the Communication between the EJ-210 and the Boiler
Check the detection status of the input of each signal from the boiler, as well as the communication
status between the EJ-210 and the boiler. Set “Maintenance display” to “Yes”, and then check the
following.
If normal status cannot be confirmed, check that the concerned wiring is connected properly, and
the terminal block or connector is not disconnected or loose.
(a) Checking communication error between the boiler and EJ-210 “C500-06”
Check that the EJ-210 does not judge a “C500-06” alarm in the Current Alarm Check
mode.
Note: “C500-06” is judged when there is a communication error for approx. 5 seconds
between the EJ-210 and the boiler.
27
MIURA_CONFIDENTIAL
(c) Checking the number of communication errors between the EJ-210 and the boiler
Check that the value displayed in “Number of errors in communication with boiler (No.9 in
Table 2-3)” on the display (lower row) in the Status Monitor mode is a numeric value
between 0 and 99999, and that it is not counted up significantly.
Note 1: If a communication error occurs between the EJ-210 and the boiler, the number of
errors is counted up. Even in a normal case, the number of errors is counted up a
few times in one hour. Therefore, there is no problem if the number of count-ups in
5 minutes is 5 or less as a guide.
Note 2: “---” is displayed for a boiler other the boilers with a BG-type, BK-type, BL-type, and
XJ1-type controller mounted.
4.2 Checking the Communication between the EJ-210 and the Boiler System Operation
Panel BP-201
Check the communication status between the EJ-210 and the boiler system operation panel
BP-201.
Check the following points.
28
MIURA_CONFIDENTIAL
4.3 Checking the Operation of MI Control and Boiler Combustion Control
Check the operation of combustion control of the boiler when “MI control” is set to “Auto” or
“Manual”.
The status monitor of the boiler system operation panel BP-201 is used for checking the operation.
Connect a PC with the MOM communication software installed and display the status monitor, and
then check the operation according to the procedure described below.
NOTE
As each boiler can be operated as desired while the operation check is performed, the
header pressure may drop.
29
MIURA_CONFIDENTIAL
After the completion of operation check, ensure that “Maintenance display” is set to “No”, and then
switch the display of the EJ-210 to the Status Monitor mode.
