    Ethernet Protocol in Data Acquisition and Industrial Automation

    The Ethernet for Control Automation Technology Protocol, or EtherCAT for short, gives
    engineers the ability to create robust Ethernet networks for data acquisition and industrial
    automation. Modules such as the ECAT-2091S which provides a single axis stepper motor
    controller, or the ECAT-2024 which acts as a slave Analog I/O module, make it efficient to
    implement a network of Ethernet communication.

    The ECAT-2000 devices support daisy chain connections so that users can build sophisticated
    designs. These modules can be used in star, line, ring, or other network topologies and can
    reduce infrastructure and operational costs.

    With a master device, a set of ECAT modules can be configured, monitored, and controlled
    within an industrial application using EtherCAT networks.
