Session Title RA 7877 “Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995”

I. Objectives:
 To understand the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995, its provisions, and its
implications in the workplace and educational institutions.
 To empower participants to identify, prevent, and respond to incidents of sexual
harassment.

1. Icebreaker Activity

 Activity 1: "Red Light, Green Light" Activity

Objective: To help participants identify appropriate (green light) and inappropriate (red
light) behaviors related to sexual harassment in the workplace or educational setting

Instructions:

 Read each statement aloud.


 Participants take a step forward if they think the behavior is appropriate (Green
Light).
 Participants take a step back if they think the behavior is inappropriate (Red Light).
 After each statement, discuss why it is considered appropriate or inappropriate.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY”
A recap for the different indicators and
manifestations of DepEd core values focusing
on Makakalikasan that will bridge the
assessment of teachers to themselves as to
students and what gender equality do to
what we called sustainability that can be a
helped for a long term solution for nowadays
issue in our environment.

Objectives 1. Guide the teachers identify learners who needs
psychosocial support from the school and identify the
GAD awareness and other related laws, issues, and
concerns.
2. Promote the learner’s effective development and to better
understand his/her situation and context.
3. Reinforce equality within and outside the school.
4. Reconstitution of the GFPS and explain its roles and
responsibilities.
5. Reiterate the indicators and manifestations of the Core
Values-Maka-Tao.
Key Understanding “Maka-Tao” is one of the DepEd’s core values emphasizing a
commitment to human dignity and respect for all individuals
regardless of gender. In relation to Gender and Development
(GAD), it means fostering an environment where everyone’s
rights, needs, and contributions are acknowledged and valued
equally, irrespective of gender. This includes promoting gender
equality in education, ensuring equitable opportunities for all
students and staff, and addressing gender-based discrimination
and stereotypes within the educational system.

1. What is Gender and Development?
- Gender and Development (GAD) is a development
perspective that recognizes the unequal status and
situation of women and men in the society. It is a process
that participatory and empowering, equitable, sustainable,
free from violence, respectful of human rights, and
supportive of self-determination and actualization of
human potentials. At the same time, it addresses women’s
strategic interests and the interests of the poor through
people-centered development and gender mainstreaming
activities.
2. What is GAD awareness and other related laws, issues, and
concerns?
- The Magna Carta of Women (Republic Act No. 9710)
defines Gender and Development Program (GAD) as the
development perspective and process that is participatory
and empowering, equitable, sustainable, free from
violence, respectful of human rights, supportive of self-
determination and actualization of human potentials.
- RA 11313: Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law). The law
covers all forms of gender-based sexual harassments
(GBSH) committed in public spaces, educational or
training institutions, workplace, as well as online space.
- RA 9262: Violence Against Women and Children. It refers
to any act or series of acts committed by any person
against a woman who is his wife, former wife, or against a
woman with whom he has a common child, or against her
child whether legitimate or illegitimate, within or without

assault, coercion, harassment or arbitrary deprivation of
liberty.
3. What is GFPS (GAD Focal Point System) and its roles and
responsibilities?
- The GFPS is an interacting and independent group of
people tasked to catalyze and accelerate gender
mainstreaming. It is also an enabling mechanism
established to ensure and advocate for, guide,
coordinator, and monitor the development,
implementation, monitoring, review, and updates of their
GAD plans and GAD related-programs, activities, and
projects.
4. How the Core Values, Maka-Tao related to Gender and
Development?
- “Maka-Tao” is one of the DepEd’s core values
emphasizing a commitment to human dignity and respect
for all individuals regardless of gender. In relation to
Gender and Development (GAD), it means fostering an
environment where everyone’s rights, needs, and
contributions are acknowledged and valued equally,
irrespective of gender. This includes promoting gender
equality in education, ensuring equitable opportunities for
all students and staff, and addressing gender-based
