Lesson 1: Metacognition

Simply defined, Metacognition is when the individual thinks about their own thinking
process. According to John H. Flavell Metacognition is knowing about knowing or thinking
about thinking. Engaging in metacognition allows us to become more aware in every strategy
and helps us enhance our critical thinking and decision-making abilities.

As I've heard and listened throughout the discussion. I have learned that metacognition
is a very powerful tool for our self-improvement and learning it is because metacognition help
us to know ourselves more and can identify what our strength and self-weaknesses, by doing
that it helps us enhance our learning experience and achieve better outcomes. On the other
hand, metacognition involves thinking about and reflecting on how we think, learn and solve
problems.

Overall, engaging in a metacognitive reflection, I can continuously grow develop and

become more effective and self-directed learner.

Lesson 2: Learner-Centered Psychological Principles

I discovered that the utmost importance of learning principle is to provide and helps us
learners develop knowledge and skills for our professional career in the future. It is also
emphasizing the capabilities, talents and the background of every individual, that each learner
is unique, with their own strength, weaknesses and interest. Each principle provides educators
the opportunity to deliver the lessons effectively and help the learners or students learn different
strategies that will guide them to understand the given lessons.

In LCP, it says that teachers and student must have the great connection to create a good
classroom environment. Those principle would greatly help the student to showcase their
talents, abilities and mostly to learn effectively. I also learned that teacher should guide his/her
students in every step of the way because they serve as the second parent and I know that most
of the students like us see our teachers as a role model. They guide students to set their goals
in life and help them achieve it. Aside from that they must consider the factors that affect the
student learning process, uniqueness and their differences.

Overall, Learner centered principle prioritize the learners needs, interest and active
involvement in the learning process. By embracing these principles, educators can create more
engaging, relevant and effective learning environment to help students develop their
confidence in their abilities.

Lesson 3: Review of Theories Related to The Learner's Development (presenter)

Review of related theories to the learner’s development focuses on human development
or learner from the beginning since they were born until on how they learn and grow as an
individual and mostly how the environment or immediate environment affect their
development as a learner.
These theories provide valuable insights into how learners develop and acquire new
knowledge and skills. They have influenced educational practices and have implications for
instructional strategies, curriculum design, and assessment methods. Learning all these theories
helps me realize that all individuals can acquire knowledge and skills not just us learners but
also for the educators, it enhances their understanding of the learning process and they should
foster an inclusive learning environment for all the learners.

Lesson 4: Individual Differences

Individual differences mean that each individual is different from the other in respect
to the physical structure, mental ability and emotional state. It can be defined as a personal
characteristic that distinguished learners from each other in the teaching and learning process.
When it comes to students, everyone has an individual differences and diversity play a crucial
role. That's why acknowledging and valuing the uniqueness and the capabilities of each
students is important because teachers or educators must teach the learners effectively. Because
some student may excel in other subject some may not, therefore it is important to know their
differences, by fostering a good classroom environment that promotes opportunities for all
students to succeed.
I also learned in individual differences that each person has a different personality they
have their own set of strength and weaknesses and mostly experiences that shape who they are.
By recognizing and appreciating the differences of individuals would be a great opportunity to
have a peaceful society, no judgement and mis understanding.
In conclusion reflecting the individual differences available exercise that promotes
self-awareness, empathy and effective communication. By embracing and celebrating these
differences we can create a more inclusive and understanding society.

Lesson 5: Learning or Thinking Styles and Multiple Intelligences

Howard Gardner proposed the theory of multiple intelligences, which suggests that
there are different types of intelligence, including linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical,
spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic intelligences.
Learning and thinking styles are the different ways individuals process and understand
information. These styles vary between people and can impact how we approach new
information. While understanding multiple intelligences is crucial as it helps us identify and
utilize our unique mental strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. Learning more about on which
types are we, will help us to learn or recognize our own preferences.
As I have observed, I am in a musical intelligence person it is because I can focus on
studying or reviewing when there is a background music. It helps or motivate me to learn more
with the help of musical instruments or songs.
Overall, learning or thinking styles and multiple intelligences focus on how we as
individuals learn and think, as well as what our different types of intelligence are that help us
recognize in which areas our abilities fit.
