1. To access to Acumen Web User Interface (UI) for device (gateway) and asset (generators, transfer
switches etc.) configuration, an RNDIS cable (USB) must be connected from the user’s laptop to
the Acumen device.
2. To access the UI, type the default IP address in a web browser address bar:
https://169.254.0.1:5000/.
3. The default username is ‘admin’. The first-time password is the device serial number. You will be
prompted to update the default password in a later step.
4. The device serial number can be taken from the backside of the device or by clicking on “Get
Electronic Serial Number” button in the UI, it will open a pop-up window with device serial
number; enter the serial number in the password field and hit the login button.
5. The user will get an optional field to select the preferred language on the header of the
Acumen UI as shownin the image below. By default, the Acumen UI language is English. The
user will be able to select the preferred language any time.
The password set by user should adhere to the note added below. The password should
be kept safe. If it is lost, then it will need to be reset through Power Command Cloud; a
flow diagram for reset password is shown below in the Reset Password section. Once user
configuration is updated, the updated password will be required to login to the device.
Once the above settings are completed, the user will be navigated to the application type
selection page of the Acumen UI.
Note:
• Setting the password is mandatory for first time login only. Once it is set by the
user, for subsequent logins, the user will be navigated directly to the homepage
after entering the username and password.
• After 3 unsuccessful attempts, the screen will be locked for 2 minutes.
• When a user changes the existing password, the last two old passwords must not be used.
• While changing a password with “Change password”, if a user inputs an incorrect or old
password, this will also be considered an unsuccessful login attempt
RESET PASSWORD
If a user forgets the password, the user can reset the existing one to the default password (i.e.
device serial number) from the PowerCommand Cloud by following the steps below as shown in
the flow diagram.
As its name implies, all existing settings like user configuration, internet media settings, asset
configuration, log settings, GPS settings, etc., are erased from the device and reverted to default
settings. In PowerCommand Cloud, the device's status will change from registered to unknown;
claimed to unclaimed (to a site in PowerCommand Cloud); the device will be treated as a fresh
device from the factory. This process takes around 10 minutes to complete.
For first time login, the Restore to Factory Settings option will be disabled as shown in the image
below.
Note:
• During factory reset, the device must have a continuous power supply during this process.
• The old log files that are not uploaded to the cloud due to the absence of internet media,
cloud connectivity, or disabled log settings will be retained in the device after a factory
reset.
APPLICATION TYPE
Once the user enters a valid username and password, they are directed to the ‘Select Application
Type’ screen. The ‘Select Application Type’ field must be selected during the first-time setup of the
device. The application type must can be selected. Options are Industrial Engine or Power
Generation. For device use with power generation equipment, ‘Power Generation’ must be
selected.
Note: Application type selection is a one-time activity performed for the first-time during
device setup. Going forward with subsequent logins, the user will be directed to the device
dashboard automatically. If Application Type was incorrectly configured, you must factory
reset the Acumen device and begin the configuration process again.
The Home page provides a status summary of the Power Systems monitored via Acumen. The image
below displays the EU variant user interface for reference.
This menu bar with graphical icons offers quick navigation to listed sections. The table below
provides details on available information under each section.
DATE/TIME SECTION
The top right corner of the Acumen UI displays the current Date and Time from the Acumen
Device. The date and time are synced from Cloud, LTE or GPS/GNSS. The user must enable internet
media first for date and time sync.
DEVICE TILES
Genset
The details are self-explanatory. Communication status and Annunciations are typically
displayed as shown.
Normal
For legacy ATS controls, the communication status is between the Acumen and the Modlon
Gateway. When an ATS is not communicating to the Acumen device due to wiring or other
issues, the ATS state and Fault statuses are not displayed, indicating that those details are
unavailable. ATS switch state definitions are given in the below table.

Normal Warning
This Connection Status Bar stays on the top-right of the UI (NA variant UI is displayed in the
below image). It displays the internet media (Ethernet,Wi-Fi, Cellular) connectivity status as
connected or disconnected by updating icon colors. Cloud connectivity and device registration
status are also provided.
The below table illustrates the color code for various internet, PowerCommand Cloud, and
device registration status.
Unknown: When a fresh device is logged in, and no internet is available, the initial registration status will
show as ‘Unknown’. This is because the device could not send the registration payload to the cloud to
get a successful response.
Registered/Unregistered: When an internet connection is provided to the device, and the cloud
connection is established, the device sends the registration payload to the cloud. If the device is valid,
the cloud will send a successful response. If the device is not valid or other issues occur, then the cloud
will send a failure message. The registration status depends on successful or failed responses from the
cloud.
Claimed/Unclaimed: When the device is added to a PowerCommand Cloud site, the device status will
be ‘Claimed’ to a site. A device can be claimed from the PCC cloud even before the first-time device
configuration. When the device is not added to any site on the PowerCommand Cloud portal, the device
status will be ‘Unclaimed’.
Activated: When an asset is added to the device, and asset registration payload is sent to the cloud, the
device status shows as ‘Activated.
DIAGNOSTICS
The Diagnostics section provides useful system status information for remote troubleshooting. The
section is divided into 7 tabs. The information written on the below images is for example purposes.
Information may vary based on user details, latest SW details, Device type etc.
DIAGNOSTICS/MODBUS
