1
Sign of the Cross and Greeting
Presider: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit.
All: Amen.
Presider: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of
God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with
you all.
All: And with your spirit.
Gloria (sung)
Presider: Glory to God in the highest!
Collect
Presider: Grant, we pray, almighty God, that the newness of
the Nativity in the flesh of your Only Begotten Son
may set us free, for ancient servitude holds us bound
beneath the yoke of sin. Through our Lord Jesus
Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in
the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
All: Amen.
All sit.
2
I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is
from the beginning.
I write to you, young men, because you are strong and
the word of God remains in you, and you have
conquered the Evil One.
Do not love the world or the things of the world. If
anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not
in him. For all that is in the world, sensual lust,
enticement for the eyes, and a pretentious life, is not
from the Father but is from the world. Yet the world
and its enticement are passing away. But whoever
does the will of God remains forever.
3

of your own free will, to bind yourself forever in the
love and service of your wife?

Presider: (to the Couple) LYSSA and JOHN PIERRE, are you
both ready to raise as good Christians the children
whom God will give you?
Couple: Yes, Father.
5
Exchange of Consent
Presider: (to the Couple) LYSSA and JOHN PIERRE, since
you wish to contract Holy Matrimony, please join
your right hands and express your intention before
God and his Church. (Couple joins right hands.)
Presider: (to the Bride) LYSSA, do you take JOHN PIERRE,
here present, for your lawful husband, according to
the rite of our Holy Mother, the Church?
Bride: Yes, I do.
7
Groom: LYSSA, wear this ring as a sign of my love and
loyalty, in the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit.
Now the Presider gives the Groom's ring to the Bride who puts it on the ring finger of the
Groom saying:
General Intercessions

LORD, HAVE MERCY
Commentator: 1. For leaders of the Church and state, for
heads of institutions, for heads of homes and
households: that they will lead us and guide
us in the search for God for the good life, in
the search for peace and joy, in the search
for love among us. Let us pray to the Lord.

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER II
Presider: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all
holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
by sending down your Spirit upon them like the
dewfall, so that they may become for us the Body
and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly
into his Passion, he took bread and, giving thanks,
broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying:
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT:
FOR THIS IS MY BODY WHICH WILL BE
GIVEN UP FOR YOU.
In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took
the chalice and, once more giving thanks, he gave it
to his disciples, saying:
TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM
IT: FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD,
THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL
COVENANT, WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT
FOR YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE
