My name is Phuong. My full name (surename) is Nguyen Mai Phuong (Nguyen)
2. Where do you come from? Where are you living now?
I come from Binh Dinh Province. Now, I am living in Thu Duc Distric. It’s
about 2 km from my house to Giga Mall.
3. Are you a student or do you work? (If you are a student, do you (want to) have a
part-time job?)
I am first year student and I decided to work part-time jobs in the early years to
improve my social skills.(communication, solve problems,..).
4. What is your major? Why did you choose this major?

I am a first year student majoring in International Bussiness at Open University.
The reason why I chose is this major is I want to get in touch with everyone and
working in different environment. Especially, I want to be more active and
talkative.
5. Do you have any hobbies?
Yes. I like playing badminton. I usually play badminton with my friends every
weekend.
6. What is your favorite book/movie/song/video game?
I have watched all 7 films in Ly Hai ‘FACE OFF’ series. The latest film has title
‘One wish’ was release on February this year. It received positive review from
critics.
Because it focus on family drama. This film touch my heart and when I watch this
film I see a part of myself in it.
The image of mother who devoted her life to her children made many people tears.
7. Who is your favorite actor/singer?
LDBL is a comedian. I admire him because of his talent (speaking talent), his sense
of humor. I like the way he inspire positive movitation to everyone.
Whenever I am in bad mood, I always watch him in reality show, it makes me laugh
out loud and forget my troubles.
8. Do you play sports?
Yes of course. I usually play badminton with my friends every weekend.
9. How long have you learned English?
Yes, of course. I have learnt English when I was grade 3. I only learn grammar and
vocabulary at school, so I plan to learn English in center to improve my speaking
skill.
10.Do you want to learn another language?
Yes, of course. I want to learn to learn Chinese.
I think it’s valuable because it's the most spoken language globally, spoken by over a
billion people. It can help for my job in the future.
11.Have you ever been abroad?
I have been to China when I was 6 or 7 years old, I don’t remember exactly.
But I just go to China’s border not go into city centre

So I have no memories about places I have been to
12.Do you want to visit another country?
Yes, I want to travel to Thailan because
It’s known for its rich cultural, stunning destination like Phuket, Bangkok,…, street
food and friendly people. Especially it is near to my country
13.How much time do you spend on social media? What do you often do on SM?
I spend almost 6-8 hours on social media . I often surf Facebook to update news and
surf Tiktok for entertain. I also listen to music on Spotify.
14.Do you want to join a club at your college?
Yes of course. But now I am little bit shy to everyone so I haven’t join any club at
school. But in the future I will join club because It can help me have more
relationship, have more opportunities to develop and improve various skills ( leader,
teamwork, communication, organization abilities)
15.Are you afraid of speaking in front of the class?
Yes, I am not confidence in my public speaking in front of crowd, especially when

presentation. I am worried that people will ju

CULTURE AND IDENTITY

1. Do you prefer wearing everyday clothes or uniforms to go to school?
I like wearing everyday clothes to go to school because they are comfortable for long
hours of sitiing and moving. Moreover, it let me show my personality which can
boost confidence, I can mix and match my outfit I like. But I think people should
wear everyday clothes as long as they are appropriate and respectful.
2. What do you think is a good way to make a living?
For first year student like me, a good way to make a living could part-time job,
internships to their field of my major, freelancing or starting a small business.
I think it can provide valuable experience and support financial for family
3. Can you think of two places where you feel at home?
There could be a park near my house and a quiet library. I feel at home in places that
make me feel safe, relaxed and comfortable. I and my friends often buy food and go
there, we talk together and enjoy the clean air
4. What are two things that make you happy?
- first, helping others is a simple action but brings many benefits to both myself and
the community. Take time to help people in need around you and you will feel
happier. Helping others can also reduce stress and anxiety.
- secondly, eating my favourite food. After a hard working day, I will buy myself a
cup of milk tea size L, or when I got a good result for an exam, I will go to Jollibee
and order combo fried chicken+ spagetti
5. What achievements are you proud of?
I think the thing that I’m most proud of this year is that I started working parttime
job. I earn money by myself and support my family cost of living.
I can buy everything I like without allowing from my parent. I feel freedom and
independence.
PERFORMING
1. How often do you go to concerts, shows or the theatre?
I often go to the concert once a year. This is the OPEN DAY- an event to welcome
new student at the Open University.
2. What are your favourite types of events?
I like music show because I can see my favourite singer performing in front of me. If
I am lucky, I can touch them even take picture with them
3. Do you like taking part in things or do you prefer being in the audience?
I prefer being an audience because I can dance with music and cheer. This make me
burn out my all energy. And I don’t have talented.
4. How do we listen to music for free?
We can listen to musician’s websites and other streaming websites, like SPOTIFY,
ZINGMP3, YTB,. we can choose music we listen to without buying it.
5. Why is it now easier to listen to international musicians?
Nowadays, our choice is wider, band and singers release their music online direct to
the listeners and it has become easier to discover diiferent kinds of music from all
over the world.
WATER
1. Where’s the best place to go swimming? A pool, a lake, the sea, … ?
I think pool is a great option for swimming.
Because it safe for all age especially for young people or inexperienced swimmers.
It also clean, people usually chang the water to keep it clean.
It is often located in convenient locations: hotel, gym,,,
2. Where is a dangerous place for swimmers?
I think waterfall is the most dangerous place for swimmers.
Because the strong power of water can be danger for swimming near or under
waterfalls.
And there are many objects like rocks, dangerous animals we can’t see, so we can
injure
(contaminated water can contain harmful chemicals that can cause illness)
3. What are the good points of going swimming in the beach?

It’s good for physical health and mental health.
The salt water can also be benefit for your skin.
I think swimming in the beach can be a lot of fun, we can see beatiful scenic
surroundings especially popular destinations like NT VT DN
4. What kind of problems can swimmers have in the sea?
Waves can pull swimmers far away from shore and make it difficult to return.
We don’t know the deep of water
Moreover, marine life such as shark, jelly fish can danger to swimmers anytime

Certainly, there are many sports and leisure activities connected with water such as:
surfing, diving, kayakingc, canoeing, jet skiing,..
OPPORTUNITIES
1. What kind of game did you play when you were a child?
When I was a child, i enjoy playing various games. Some of my favorites were hide
and seek, board games like UNO or tien len, and outdoor sports like soccer and
badminton. And I feel really happy with my friends.
2. What job do you want to do when you graduate from university? How do you
describe this job?
Now I don’t have a detailed plan for my future, I just want to experience my life and
find out exactly the things that I a good at.
When I graduate from university with a major in international business, I aim to pursue
a career that work in the multinational corporation or global company.
My job involve analyzing global market trends, developing international business
strategies, managing logistic and supply chains.
3. Do you think a robot could replace teachers? Why? / Why not?

In my opinion, robots can’t replace teachers.
they are powerful tool to support teacher, they can answer student’s questions and
provide information for student anytime and anywhere BUT they can’t care about their
student by heart.
Stdent need to interact to their teacher with empathy and creativity
5. Have you ever had to retake an exam?
I haven’t retake an exam before and I hope I will pass all my exam with good result
in the future.
6. How many times have you reread your favourite book?
I have read my favourite book 3 times.
This is ‘ how much is your youth worth?’ written by Rosie Nguyen.
It’s a book for young adult, and the book’s message is that youth is a precious time
for exploration, growth and self discovery
