Admission Requirements
REDEEMER'S UNIVERSITY

All candidates for Direct Entry must satisfy the minimum entry requirement
as stated above. Furthermore, the candidate must be registered with the
Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria as RN/RM with at least 2 years
post-registration cognate experience.
For admission into 200 level (Direct Entry), candidates should (in addition
to 5 SSCE credits in relevant subjects, including English Language),
General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) or its equivalent with
three passes at the Advanced Level in Biology, Chemistry and Physics in
one sitting.
c) B.Sc. Biochemistry
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more
than 2 sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry,
Biology and Physics. The U.T.M.E. Subjects are Use of English, Biology,
Chemistry and Physics.

For admission into 200 level (Direct Entry), candidates should (in addition
to 5 SSCE credits in relevant subjects, including English Language),
General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) or its equivalent with
three passes at the Advanced Level in Biology, Chemistry and Physics in
one sitting.
d) B.Sc. Physiotherapy
The Physiotherapy Degree programme training shall normally take 5 years
for candidates admitted through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation
Examination (UTME) and 4 years for candidates admitted by Direct Entry
(into 200 Level). The admission requirements are as follows.
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more
than 2 sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry,
Biology and Physics. The U.T.M.E. Subjects are Use of English, Biology,
Chemistry and Physics.
For admission into 200 level (Direct Entry), candidates should (in addition
to 5 SSCE credits in relevant subjects, including English Language):
obtain Physics, Chemistry and one other science subject in General
Certificate of Education Advanced Level (GCE ‘A’ Level) or its equivalent.
e) B. Sc Human Physiology
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more
than 2 sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry,
Biology and Physics. The U.T.M.E. Subjects are Use of English, Biology,
Chemistry and Physics.
For admission into 200 level (direct entry), candidates should (in addition to 5
SSCE credits in relevant subjects, including English language):
Obtain at least 2 “A” level (or its equivalent) passes at GCE or its equivalent in
relevant subjects.
For admission into 200 level (direct entry), candidates should (in addition to 5
SSCE credits in relevant subjects, including English language):
Obtain at least 2 “A” level (or its equivalent) passes at GCE or its equivalent in
Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Physics and Chemistry.
Holders of OND/ND with overall Upper Credit passes or its equivalent in Town
Planning and related subjects are eligible for admission to 200 level of the
relevant programme provided that such candidates also satisfy the requirements
for admission through UTME.
For admission into 200 level (direct entry), candidates should (in addition to 5
SSCE credits in relevant subjects, including English language):
Obtain at least 2 “A” level (or its equivalent) passes at GCE or its equivalent in
relevant subjects.
Holders of OND/ND with overall Upper Credit passes are eligible for admission to
200 level of the relevant programme provided that such candidates also satisfy
the requirements for admission through UTME .
For admission into 300 level (Direct entry), candidates should be holders of HND
in Quantity surveying with overall minimum of Upper Credit Pass to be eligible for
admission to 300 level provided that such candidates also satisfy the
requirements for admission through UTME.
For admission into 200 level (direct entry), candidates should (in addition to 5
SSCE credits in relevant subjects, including English language):
Obtain at least 2 “A” level (or its equivalent) passes at GCE or its equivalent in
Mathematics, and one of Chemistry, physics, Geography and Economics.

Candidates who hold the Ordinary National Diploma (OND/ND) from recognised
polytechnic or College of Technology at Upper Credit level in Quantity Surveying,
Building, Architecture or Civil Engineering, are eligible for admission to 200 level
of the relevant programme provided that such candidates also satisfy the
requirements for admission through UTME.
For admission into 200 level (direct entry), candidates should (in addition to 5
SSCE credits in relevant subjects, including English language):
Obtain at least 2 “A” level (or its equivalent) passes at GCE or its equivalent in
Mathematics and Economics.
Holders of OND/ND with overall Upper Credit passes are eligible for admission to
200 level of the relevant programme provided that such candidates also satisfy
the requirements for admission through UTME.
Admission to 300 Level (Exemption from 200 Level and 300 Level)
Holders of Higher National Diploma (H.N.D) in the fields relevant to
Environmental Planning, Design and Management may be considered for
admission into 300 Level provided they meet all conditions stipulated above.

3) FACULTY OF ENGINEERING
For admission into 200 level (direct entry), candidates should (in addition to 5
SSCE credits in relevant subjects, including English language):
Obtain at least 2 “A” level (or its equivalent) passes at GCE or its equivalent in
relevant subjects.
Holders of OND/ND or NCE with overall Upper Credit passes are eligible for
admission to 200 level of the relevant programme provided that such candidates
also satisfy the requirements for admission through UTME.

4) FACULTY OF HUMANITIES
a) B. A. English
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Literature- in-English and at least a pass in
Mathematics. The UTME subjects are Use of English, Literature-in-English and
any two of Christian Religious Knowledge, Government, Economics, History,
Fine Arts and Geography.
Direct Entry: Two passes at the GCE (Advanced Level) or its equivalent, one of
which must be Literature-in-English, plus the necessary O’level requirements.
NCE holders with at least Merit in English as their teaching subject in NCE and
must have fulfilled the necessary O’level requirements.
b) B. A. Theatre Arts
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Literature-in-English, one other Arts subject
and at least a pass in Mathematics. The UTME subjects are Use of English,
Literature-in-English and any two of Christian Religious Knowledge, Government,
Economics, History, Fine Arts and Geography.
Direct Entry: Two passes at the GCE (Advanced Level) or its equivalent, one of
which must be Literature-in-English, plus the necessary O’level requirements.
NCE holders must pass, at least at credit level and Diploma at Upper Credit
Level from any recognized institution.
d) B. A. French
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, French, two other Arts subject and at least
a pass in Mathematics. The UTME subjects include Use of English, French, and
any two of Literature-in-English, Christian Religious Knowledge, Government,
History, Commerce, Civic Education, Geography, Economics, and Fine Art.
Direct Entry: Two passes at the GCE (Advanced Level) or its equivalent, one of
which must be French, plus the necessary O’level requirements, or the
Baccalaureate for a candidate coming from a French-speaking country who
satisfies the general requirements of admission to Redeemer’s University.
NCE holders with at least Merit in French as their teaching subject in NCE. A
credit pass in French at O’level may be waived if the applicant went through the
pre-NCE French course.
e) B. A. Philosophy
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than
2sittings to include English Language, four other Arts or Social Science or
Science subjects and at least a pass in Mathematics. The UTME subjects include
Use of English and any three subjects from Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences.
Direct Entry: Two passes at the GCE (Advanced Level) or its equivalent, one of
which must be English, plus the necessary O’Level requirements
(SSCE/NECO/NABTEB).
5) FACULTY OF LAW
Admission Requirements
The entry requirements shall be through any of the three under-listed options:
(a) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Mode
Five (5) credit passes in five (5) Arts or Social Sciences subjects in G.C.E.
O’Level, or NECO or WASC or SSS Certificate. Three (2) of the five (5) credit
passes must include English Language, Mathematics, and Literature-in-
English. The five (5) credit passes must be obtained at not more than two (2)
sittings. In addition, UTME candidates must have an acceptable pass in
UTME.
a) B. Sc. Accounting
Five O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2 sittings
to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two
subjects in Arts and Social Sciences. The UTME subjects include Use of English,
Mathematics and any two of Economics, Commerce, Financial Accounting,
Government, Biology, Christian Religious Knowledge, and Geography.
Direct Entry:
(i) Candidates must have passed at least two commercial or social science
subjects in the H.S.C. or G.C.E. ‘A’ Level, IJMB, JUPEB, etc., which must
include Accounting and Business, Management/Economics (The grade
point to be determined by the Department from time to time)
OR
(ii) National Diploma in Accounting, Banking, and Finance or Financial
studies or Business Administration with at least upper credit from
approved polytechnics or college of technology. Also, N.C.E. (Business
Education) in a related field.
OR
(iii) University Diploma in Accounting, Banking, and Finance or Financial
studies or Business Administration with a minimum of upper credit.
(iv) Candidates must have passed mathematics, and one other social science
subject and any other subjects in JUPEB.
(i) Candidates must have passed at least two commercial or social science
subjects in the H.S.C. or G.C.E. ‘A’ Level, IJMB, JUPEB, etc., which must
include Accounting and Business, Management/Economics (The grade
point to be determined by the Department from time to time)
OR
(ii) National Diploma in Accounting, Banking, and Finance or Financial
studies or Business Administration with at least upper credit from
approved polytechnics or college of technology. Also, N.C.E. (Business
Education) in a related field.
OR
(iii) University Diploma in Accounting, Banking, and Finance or Financial
studies or Business Administration with a minimum of upper credit.
(iv) Candidates must have passed mathematics, and one other social science
subject and any other subjects in JUPEB.
d) B. Sc. Insurance
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two
subjects in Arts, Social Sciences, and the Sciences. The UTME subjects include
Use of English, Mathematics and any two of Economics, Commerce, Financial
Accounting, Government, Biology, Christian Religious Knowledge, and
Geography.
Direct Entry:
(i) Candidate must have passed at least two commercial or social science
subjects in the H.S.C. or G.C.E. ‘A’ Level, IJMB, JUPEB, etc., which must
include Accounting and Business, Management/Economics (The grade
point to be determined by the Department from time to time)
OR
(ii) National Diploma in Accounting, Banking, and Finance or Financial
studies or Business Administration with at least upper credit from
approved polytechnics or college of technology. Also, N.C.E. (Business

(iii) University Diploma in Accounting, Banking, and Finance or Financial
studies or Business Administration with a minimum of upper credit.
(iv) Candidates must have passed mathematics, and one other social science
subject and any other subjects in JUPEB.
(i) Candidates must have passed at least two social science or related
subjects in the H.S.C or G.C.E. A’ Level, IGCSE, IJMB, JUPEB (The
grade point is to be determined by the Department from time to time).
OR
(ii) National Diploma in Accounting, Business, Finance, or any other relevant

(iii) Final result of the RUN Foundation Programme in Marketing, Accounting,
Business Management, Public Administration, Banking and Finance; or any
other University Diploma acceptable to the Department with a minimum of
Lower Credit.
f) B. Sc. Marketing
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two
subjects in Arts and Social Sciences. The UTME subjects include Use of English,
Mathematics, Economics and any of Government, Christian Religious
Knowledge, Commerce, Geography and Literature-in-English.
Direct Entry:
(i) Candidates must have passed at least two social science or related
subjects in the H.S.C or G.C.E A’ Level or Joint Universities Preliminary
Examination Board (JUPEB). The grade point is to be determined by the
Department from time to time.
OR
(ii) National Diploma in Marketing, Accounting, Business, Finance, or any
other relevant discipline with a minimum of Lower Credit from approved
Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology.
OR
(iii) University Foundation programme in Marketing, Accounting, Business
Management, Mass Communication, or any other University Diploma
acceptable to the Department with a minimum of Lower Credit.
(i) Candidates must have passed at least two social science subjects or
related subjects in the G.C.E A ‘Level/IJMB, JUPEB.
OR
(ii) National Diploma in Town Planning, Business Studies, Transport
Management or related subject acceptable to the Department with a
minimum of Lower Credit from approved Polytechnics, Colleges of
Technology, and Institutes.
OR
(iii) University Diploma in Transport Planning and Management and other
University Diploma in related courses acceptable to the Department with a
minimum of Lower Credit.
a) B. Sc. Microbiology
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and
Physics. The UTME subjects include Use of English, Chemistry, Biology and any
of Mathematics or Physics.
Direct Entry:
Candidates seeking admission into 200 Level (direct Entry) must satisfy the
following requirements.
• Credit passes in five ordinary level including English, Mathematics,
Biology, Chemistry and Physics at one sitting or six credit passes at
two sittings.
• Holders of OND/ND with Upper Credit pass or NCE with overall Credit
Pass are eligible for admission to 200L.
• JUPEB/Foundation Programme:
Only students with a minimum point of six (6) on a scale of fifteen (15)
shall be considered for admission.
c) B. Sc. Cybersecurity
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and any other
Science subjects from Chemistry, Biology, Further Mathematics, Agricultural
Science and Geography. The UTME subjects include Use of English,
Mathematics, Physics and any of Biology, Chemistry or Geography.
Direct Entry:
To qualify for admission to 200 Level, applicants should possess any of the
following qualifications, in addition to possessing the requirements for admission
to 100 level:
• Two Advanced Level (GCE, JUPEB, IJMB, etc) pass in Mathematics and
any of, Physics or Chemistry.
• Credit in ND/NCE in Mathematics, or any related subject.
To qualify for admission to 200 Level, applicants should possess any of the
following qualifications, in addition to possessing the requirements for admission
to 100 level:
• Two Advanced Level (GCE, JUPEB, IJMB, etc) pass in Mathematics and
any of, Physics or Chemistry.
j) B. Sc Geology

Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and one
other Science subject. The UTME subjects include Use of English, Mathematics,
Physics and any of Chemistry or Biology.
Direct Entry:
Pass in at least two GCE ‘A’ level subjects or its equivalent, which must include
Physics and any of Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Geography. Holders of
OND, HND, or NCE with a minimum of lower credit in relevant natural science
disciplines are eligible for consideration for admission into the 200 level.
Redeemer’s University Foundation students are required to have sat for Physics,
Mathematics and Chemistry/Biology at JUPEB and obtained at least a pass in
Physics, in addition to a minimum of 2.4/5.0 CGPA in the University one-year
Foundation Programme.
k) B. Sc Applied Geophysics
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and any
of Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Biology, Agricultural Science and
Geography. The UTME subjects include Use of English, Mathematics, Physics
and Chemistry.
Direct Entry:
Pass in at least two GCE ‘A’ level subjects or its equivalent, which must include
Physics and any of Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Geography. Holders of
OND, HND, or NCE with a minimum of lower credit in relevant natural science
disciplines are eligible for consideration for admission into the 200 level.
Redeemer’s University Foundation students are required to have sat for Physics,
Mathematics and Chemistry/Biology at JUPEB and obtained at least a pass in
Physics, in addition to a minimum of 2.4/5.0 CGPA in the University one-year
Foundation Programme.
l) B. Sc Meteorology
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Physics, Mathematics, and any other two
subjects from Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Biology, Agricultural

• NCE with minimum of Credit passes in two (2) teaching subjects including
Chemistry.
• NCE with minimum of Credit passes in two (2) teaching subjects including
Chemistry.
Direct Entry candidates must fulfil the requirements above and in addition:
a. have obtained GCE ‘A’ Level/JUPEB or equivalent with passes in Biology and
Chemistry, or
b. holds an ND (upper credit) in Environmental Studies or
c. holds an HND (lower credit) in Environmental Studies, Environmental
Toxicology or any related discipline.

j) B. Sc. Sociology
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Geography or
Government and any other two subjects from Arts or Social Sciences. The UTME
subjects include Use of English and any three of Economics, Government,
Geography, Christian Religious Knowledge, Commerce and Literature-in-English.
Direct Entry:
• Candidate must have passed at credit level in at least two Arts or Social
Sciences subjects in the HSC or A’ Level GCE.

• NCE with a minimum of merit passes in social studies and any other
related arts or Social Sciences.

l) B. Sc. Psychology
Five (5) O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2
sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any other two
subjects from Arts, Social Sciences, and the Sciences. The UTME subjects
include Use of English and any three of Biology, Mathematics, Economics,
Government, Geography, Christian Religious Knowledge, and Commerce.
Direct Entry:
• In addition to the UTME requirements, candidates must have passed at
Credit Level in at least two Social Sciences subjects at HSC or GCE
A’Level, Registered Nurse certificate or related courses with a minimum of
Lower Credit.

• University Diploma with a minimum of Lower Credit in Social/Community
Development, or Health Science related courses.

m) B. Sc. Economics
Five O/L credit passes in the SSCE (WAEC or NECO) at not more than 2 sittings
to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two
subjects in Arts and Social Sciences. The UTME subjects include Use of English,
Mathematics, Economics and any of Government, Christian Religious
Knowledge, Islamic Religious Knowledge, Geography, and Literature-in-English.
Direct Entry:
• Candidates must have passed at least two social science or related
subjects in the H.S.C or G.C.E A’ Level or Joint universities preliminary
Examinations by JUPEB or IJMB “A” Level
OR
• National Diploma in Accounting, Business, Finance, or any other relevant
discipline with a minimum of lower Credit from approved Polytechnics and
Colleges of Technology.
OR
• Final Certificate of relevant Professional bodies
OR
• University Diploma in Accounting, Business Management or Financial
Studies and other University Diploma acceptable to the Department with a
minimum of lower Credit.
