“A Memory to Remember “
( Both of the students come on the stage as they are coming in a café and see each other in
a shock)
Riza: “Oh my! Is it really you Ayzel? After 15 long years, where have you been to? I thought
you moved out of city?”
Ayzel: “It’s nice to meet you too Riza, I had been planning to go out but, due to my higher
studies, I wasn’t able to go. Hey, why not we sit down and talk, treat is on me!”
Riza: “Yes of course, my legs are getting tired.”
(They both sit down)
Ayzel: “So, what have you been up to Riza?”
Riza: “Well, I started a business where I sell cookies in schools and give all the money as
charity to the local orphanage. What about you, still studying?”
Ayzel: “No actually, I am working as a graphic designer for a Hollywood company.”
Riza: “That’s good”
(They sit quite for a minute or two)
Riza: “Boy, it has been quite a long time since we met, I wish the school days were still
here.”
Ayzel: “Yeah, I always remember those days while I am at work. Ahhh, those were the good
old days.”
Riza: “Yes they were, do you remember that time when you accidently dropped the cake
for the surprise birthday of our vice principal?”
(First memory flashback starts where the 2 friends sit where they are and the flashback
scene actors come on stage [Everyone is gathered around the table with the teachers,
students and the vice principal wishing her])
Student 1: “Happy Birthday Ma’am!”
Student 2: “We arranged this evening celebration just for you!”
VP: “Thank you girls! I really appreciate your love and gratitude, well I would be going now”
Student 3: “Ma’am, what’s better than a double chocolate fudge cake on your special day,
Ayzel, go get the cake?”
Ayzel: “I would run around the earth in a jiffy.”
(Ayzel brings the cake)
Ayzel: “Woaahhh, this cake is really heavy!”
Riza: “Wait! I forgot about the candles, wait here.”
(Riza runs to get the candles and Ayzel getting tired grabs on to the cake. While she is
standing, a balloon pops and Ayzel drops the cake and looks in a shock. She stares at the
cake and then stares at the students. After a minute or 2, the vice principle starts to giggle
and soon laughs, along with her everyone starts laughing. After a little while Ayzel starts
laughing as well. Soon, Riza joins in along with the handles)
Riza: “Let’s get this par------Oh my! What happened?”
Ayzel: “A bit of comedy you can say.”
(They all start laughing and soon exit the stage, Ayzel and Riza continue their talk)
Ayzel: “Seriously I never thought you would remember it. It was so awkward back then.”
Riza: “But still, it was hilarious even though you dropped the cake!”
Ayzel: “Well, do you remember that time when we had an enactment to rehearse on where
you were made in charge and you totally messed things up?”
(Second memory flashback starts where the 2 friends sit where they are and the flashback
scene actors come on stage [ students have the script in their hands and they are
memorizing it and a teacher is talking to Riza])
Teacher: “I want all these students to memorize their lines without any shenanigans by the
evening. I want you to make sure they prepare their speech once I get back, OK?”
Riza: “Roger that miss!”
(Teacher exits, Riza sits down and drinks from her bottle)
Student 1: “Don’t you have a duty?”
Riza: (stands up) “As long as she is gone, I am no in charge here.”
(Everyone smiles at each other and start doing foolish stuff, there would be 3 groups of
students standing on the stage where they would be rehearsing, in an awful manner)
(Group one would speak out loud where they would be playing truth and dare)
(Then Group 2 would speak out loud where they would be making fun of the lines and
would be saying them in a funny way)
(Then Group 3 would speak out loud where they would tell jokes to each other)
(Ayzel and Riza would be talking to each other)
Ayzel: “WOW, these people are really having fun!”
Riza: “Yes they are, why not we join them”
(Riza and Ayzel join any group and moments later, the teacher comes in checking on their
students)
Teacher: “Alright students, are you---------what on earth is happening over here? Where is
Riza?!”
Riza: “Here miss”
Teacher: “ARE MY STUDENTS READY?”
Riza: (While being nervous) “Certainly miss, (gulp)”
Teacher: “Let’s see then, Sonia come forward and recite your lines”
(1 or 2 more students give their audition and surprisingly shock the teacher)
Teacher: “That went well then I expected it would, good job Riza!”
Riza: (While looking towards the audience and talking to them in a way that the teacher
can’t hear her) Thank you miss (wink)”
(The actors exit the stage where Ayzel and Riza continue their talk)
Riza: “Hey! I did what I was told.”
Ayzel: “Well you pretty much messed things up”
Riza: “Yeah, Yeah. Honestly speaking, this is the best day of my life. Meeting you after 15
years and having latte is just like heaven!”
Ayzel: “Yes, it is. Unfortunately, these memories wouldn’t come back, but would always
remain in our hearts.”
Riza: “Yes, they would.”
