Nagano, but after the collapse of the USSR, Ukraine urgently
needed a candidate to participate in the 1994 Olympics, and
sent Bayul. At these games, Oksana Bayul performed one of
the best short programs in the history of figure skating (to
the music of P. I. Tchaikovsky). The first part was lyrical,
decorated with a sophisticated combination of spirals, but
the second part turned out to be very emotional, stormy. In
the end, after a short program, Baiul became the second, the
American Kerrigan took the first place.

driving while intoxicated, she was at the center of various
scandals.
In 2005, after overcoming alcohol addiction, she returned to
professional sports. Oksana did not stop with figure skating, in
particular, she participated in a number of commercial ice shows - in
the USA and Europe (in Oberstdorf, Germany). In 2010, Oksana Bayul
returned to Ukraine, where she aimed to open a world-class children's
figure skating school. She entered the Institute of Physical Education
