CHAPTER ONE

1.0 BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

Since the business will be operating under management of a sole proprietor it will require

donors who will boost and make the business to be more effective. The money for starting the

business will be from own savings, contribution from parent’s loan and banks. I will be

making decision since am the owner and I will be required to raise the capital since am the

only beneficially. The donor of the business will be Christopher who is the owner of the

business who joined who joined Total technical and Vocation College on SEP 2022

1.1 BUSINESS NAME

Winners Audit Ltd is a sole business specializing in with auding performances. Our primary

focus is to provide our customers(companies&institutions)with competence and quality of

audit performances so as to ensure the financial information availed by them are of true and

fair views at affordable price

1.2 LOCATION AND ADDRESS

The business will be located at Thika Town. The location of the business has got the potential

infrastructure which includes good roads network which enable employees reach at work in

time and ease customers access for us to offer quality services in and out of the business.
The presence of electricity therefore makes it an ideal place to run such a business and again

there is security light in the market in case of late hour’s operations.

1.3 FORM OF BUSINESS OWNERSHIP

The business will run as a sole proprietorship business and will be owned by Christopher

kilonzo from machakos County and the owner of the business intends to run the business

alone since he finds it better to start and manage it. The owner has a diploma in civil

engineering.

A situation may arise where the customer for example may need construction plants within

his institution or company we may require one or two personnel with skills and knowledge to

help us in such instances

Since our main aim is to ensure that we give our customers what they need by provision of

construction materials and plants to minimize man effort.

1.5 JUSTIFICATION OF OPPORTUNITIES


Due to the location of the business the business we may tend to have more customers. This is

because in the area the business will be located has a high population and the area is

growing very fast . Due to demand within the location which will attract more customer since

our services will be of high quality done through the competence people. The business will

prove it right to the government and the customers will have legal document license

1.8.1 ENTRY

The business will deal with services which are not commonly offered in the area of which

they are much needed in the area. In order the enterprise to prosper and flow in the right way

more study will be carried and put in more consideration to the market place.

1.8.2 GROWTH

The business intends to establish healthy customer relationship introducing new services to

cope up well with competition motivate employees and give quality service offer to

customers to avoid risks factors.

As results of good services being delivered to the potential customer more profits will be

gained and therefore accumulated and later used for expansion of the business to large scale

business enterprise.

The business will be dealing with supply of construction materials and provision of services

such as training the youth on how to use some of the machines . This will aim at improving

the life of our youths.

The business will be offering services to its potential customers who will be classified into

the following categories

2.2.1 INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMER

These are customers who will owning sole trade ie sole proprietors who maybe needing

our advices ,opinions and way to make their business to prosper accordingly .On the

other hand we may sell products to them as they wish.

2.2.2 INSTITUTIONAL CUSTOMERS

This customers will be most probably companies,institutions such as schools and

hospitals ,partnership.For the companies we will giving them construction machines

and some of our products.

2.2 MARKET SHARE

According to the census of 2019, the population of Machakos town was over 100,000. The

approximate number of potential customers in the locality owing the business and companies

is about 720. Therefore the proposed business targets a share of about 40% which will be met

by rendering good quality

and high quality services.


The business seeks to gain 40% market share of the customers by the end of first year. Its

competitor will hold the remaining 60%.The table below shows the market share of

2.4 ADVERTISING

The business will use the mass media to create customers awareness to services offered

through the local radio, posters, sign posts will also be used to advertise the services are being

offered in the enterprise

The business will always use posters and Facebook to advertise product and services, the

posters will be carrying the products we offer for sale and their price tags, in Facebook they

will appear as they are.

Business will as well employ competitive methods of promotion on regular basis as this will

be beneficial to the business. The business will also use cold calling method basically to

improve their effectiveness and efficiency.

2.4.2 PROMOTIONS

The business has to do the following so as to promote its products.

I. Giving out samples. By giving out free samples such as calendar’s printed t-shirt and

caps.

The enterprise is to use cost based pricing method to set the prices of services, The business

enterprise will take into consideration the different between small institutions and big

campanies where they will charnged differently.

The business will need organizational manager who will be under the umbrella of the

managing director who is the owner of the business.

The business enterprise is to run as a sole proprietor from business organization as the

manager is a sole owner of the business.

responsibilities,

achieve its objectives.

The manager of enterprise will be Christopher kilonzo is the sole owner of the business

The starting salary is seven thousands and expecting an increment when there is increase in

profit margin. Earns house allowance of one thousand two hundred per month, while all other

expenses including travelling and lunch will be met.

His / her starting salary is Kenyan shillings eight thousand and a house allowance of two

thousand per month

QUALIFICATION

I. Should be able to communicate in English and Kiswahili

II. Should be a Kenyan citizen

III. Should be a Form four leaver with at least men grade of D+ in Kenya certificate of

secondary education.

3.4 RECRUTIMENT

The job vacancies are advertised to the public through mass media, magazines and posters

All candidates who need to apply for various jobs application submitted to the manager

(b)Interview

Interviews are conducted in the manager’s office whereby recruits are interviewed by the

manager.

The following will be the procedure of carrying out an interview

The business through the human resources manager shall advertise on the available job posts

in the business.

The business shall undertake an interview to determine the competence of the candidates

The business will give employment test to those who will express the interviews during the

interview session.

3.4 TRAINING

The qualification recruits are trained as they continue working in reference to their

qualification.

The business will also finance workers to train and attain the necessary knowledge, this will

be done before job briefing where senior employees will give instructions to their recruits on

what to do or not do during a certain activity. This will give high experience to those who

have little or no skill.

3.5 PROMOTION

Maximum profits will therefore be achieved by motivating the workers as offering of

allowance is given to them.


They will be promoted on the basis of exemplary performance, improved skills and time

spent on the firm.

3.6 RENUMERATION AND INCENTIVES

3.61 RENUMERATION

The business intends to pay its employees worth their services. This will be in form of

Salary each employee shall be getting him or her salary at the end of the month.

Wages: all over times and pays to casual workers. Everyone shall be paid as per the rate or

time agreed upon or at the end of contract.

Awards: the most outstanding employees shall receive an award for showing hard work,

great sense, discipleship and delight workmanship.

3.6.2 INCENTIVES

Apart from the basic salary the employees will have other gains which are divided into two

main parts

3.6.3 FINANCIAL INCENTIVES

This is where employees get cash together with their basic salary

3.6.4 NON FINANCIAL INCENTIVES

These are gains given to an employees but don’t involve cash, they include

3.6.3 SUPPORT AND SERVICES

For effective operation of the firm, it will require services such as financial accounting and

auditing after every year to reap any shortcoming in the business.

There are also other shortcoming that may arise as the calamities therefore all these must be

covered.

3.6.4 BANK ACCOUNT

A bank is necessary to provide loans to the business and employees. To make deposit

withdrawals the business will require a bank account. This will reduce the risk of theft and

robbery cases, it will also facilitate smooth payment of salaries to the workers.

3.6.5 INSURANCE SERVICES

There are shortcomings that hinder the smooth running of the business such as theft, fire, and

other calamities all this will be covered by an Britam insurance company.

3.6.5 COMMUNICATION

A postal and Safaricom services will enable the business in communicating and receiving

messages from the customers concerning their compliments and companies as well as making

orders

These are legal obtained essential for running a business which is required by the

government,
