1. Purpose of Service Launch Guide

This Service Launch Guide is issued for sharing new product information with distributors. KMI-ISB and AP
support members start the support activity under common understanding with distributors, with not only
providing necessary information to start field support activity at distributors’ service support division but also
sharing the information of service productivity improvement measures.

2. Product Concept
2-1 Product Concept

◆Purpose of Commercialization
 Maintain and expand top market share of A3 color MFP that has built up by bizhub C200.
 Takeover and expand A3 color MFP of low segment field mainly in AP area of emerging countries
 For the next step, acquiring customers and dealers can lead sales of high value-added product and
system

◆Target Customer
 The customers whom color MFPs are first introduced to and who do not require collaboration of
advanced solution such as OpenAPI or advanced operability.
 Print for pay market.
 Customers who use BW Low End MFP (Replacement by color).
 Customers who own a number of single-function office devices (Replacement by function aggregation).

2-2 Product Planning Target / Strategy

 Position as a successor model of bizhub C200.
 In the market of emerging countries, the entry color MFP model that develops customer’s needs by
strategically releasing low-end products.
 Continue business by assuring “securing profit”, which bizhub C200 has been struggling with.
 Lead the color market in emerging countries and establish color market of Konica Minolta, with A4 color
line-up (bizhub C3850 series / C3110 series),
 Reduce investment and costs, realize optimum functions.
 Clarify necessary functions in bizhub C200 and minimize them.
 OpenAPI, IWS are not supported.

-Adaptation of EMI standards’ ClassA of the countries where the product will be released. Difference of panel operability
from existing bizhub C554 series, copy and scan image quality (color shift, moiré) due to CIS adaptation, difference of
subject depth are accepted. (Clarify the ability on various image qualities when selling, and share the information with
sales companies.)

4. Service Policy
4-1 Service Policy
* Followings are extracted from Service Concept summarized in the Product Commercialization meeting on
August 9, 2013.

1. Aim to enhance serviceability of the product that is co-development with our new partner (an external vendor).
2. Analyze field requirements of predecessor model bizhub C200 and field issues, and feed back to bizhub
C281/C221/C221s.
3. For sales companies in emerging countries, aim to strengthen support measures as well as improve service
productivity.
4. Preliminarily discuss with sales companies regarding information gathering of field situation and actual status
against the sales measures that focus on No Service Contract.
Quality assurance department of the external vendor and KM related division will work together to stabilize initial
quality of the product after release at an early point.

4-2 Service Training & Service Material

Regarding Training/Service materials, although print process of the product is based on bizhub C281/C221/C221s,
most of the parts are developed by the external vendor and it is a strategic product for AP field. Therefore, we will held
group training.
4-3 Spare Parts related
Analyze consumable parts based on the actual data of predecessor model, and prepare consumables to meet
customers’ demand more than before by using the parts order that the actual sales and design change are considered.
For your reference, we attach the RECOMMENDED PARTS LIST for this product. It shows recommended parts and
their quantity to prepare for the product launch.

5. Field Support Concept

1. Measurement of Out-of-Box defective Rate:
To assess the production quality of the external vendor, measure Out-of-Box defective rate and feed
back through KM quality assurance department.

2. Serviceability:
2-1. Reduction of CM Parts Replacement Time
Conduct VDC evaluation and machine evaluation of each stage with the external vendor. Aim to
shorten the service work time by evaluating replaceability of CM parts that are frequently replaced in
field with consideration of safety assessment of CE.
2-2. Open Box Installation Time
With service-ability evaluation of each stage, aim to shorten installation time by enhancing evaluation
and measures against whole work process from open box to final adjustment.

3. Action for Field Requirements:

Obtain agreement for action for field requirements from sales companies and R&D (KM R&D/
external vendor) as well as promote action for serviceability requirements. For the requirements that
cannot be addressed, ISB will make adjustment with the distributors and consider alternative
measures.

is performed by one person.) In case of carrying device that more than one person is needed, define as one
