MBAvengers

Be the Face of MBAtrek at your B-School

Time for a Story?
Peter was a decent student during his undergraduation. He got a job in a
company offering him an average salary. He wanted to grow in his career at a
faster pace and take a big leap in terms of salary, designation and skills. His
friends gave him one answer - "Brooo, MBA karlo, life set hai!"

Peter got into a good business school. He was very happy that soon, his life is
going to change. But COVID hit the market. Little did he knew that his on-
campus MBA would remain a dream and he will have to do an online MBA.
Still, Peter wasn't much disappointed, because "Brooo, MBA karlo, life set hai!"

On the very first day of online induction, Peter was excited that he will give a
one-minute speech to introduce himself and the entire college would clap for
his achievement. What happened in the next one month was something he
never imagined. Late-night meetings, very short deadlines, unnecessary
bashing, midnight batchmeets, fear of becoming a defaulter... this is what
Peter surprisingly experienced. "Brooo, life ko chodo, MBA set hai?"

Few months down the line, Peter also saw a major difference between a lot of
things. From the answers on PagalGuy to the actual experience, from reel data
to the real data, everything varied. He got disappointed, looked everywhere
around him, and asked himself "MBA? Life? Kuch set hai?"

Inspired by Rancho from '3 idiots', he went to his Institute Director and talked
about skills, activities, upskilling, transparency etc. Inspired by Late Amrish
Puri from the movie 'Nayak' (Original movie: Mudhalvan), his Director
simply asked, "Banoge ek din ke Director? Hai Himmat?"

"Yes" - Peter said and left the classroom!

****

"Peter, wake up. We have our presentation starting in 1 minute. Unmute yourself
and speak something" - His friend desperately said over the phone call. It took
one minute for Peter to realize that all of it was nothing but a dream.

Wait. Was it just a dream?

Multiverse: MBAtrek
Meanwhile, in some other universe, MBAtrek - a team of MBAs from top B-
Schools (XLRI, ISB, IIM, XIMB) was working on a similar problem -
bridging the gap between the college deliverables and corporate expectations
through one-to-one mentoring, skill development programs & Industry
Expert sessions.

MBAtrek had been doing the same for the past four years and for students
from multiple campuses - mostly from the Top 50 B-Schools of the country.
They helped students get into awesome profiles, including but not limited to,
Product Manager, Consultant, Brand Manager, and Business Analyst, and into
awesome companies such as Airtel, Deloitte, Marico, and Tata Steel.

Few of their products such as Campus2Corporate, Product Management

and Placement Ready were aggressively taken by students from multiple B-
Schools to develop the right set of skills and get into the right job.

Just when MBAtrek thought that they have all the power to transform the
careers of students and young professionals, their Thanos arrived - Covid19.
This is how this Covid became Thanos for MBAtrek.

1. MBAtrek could no longer visit the campuses and take in-classroom sessions,
guest lectures, and face-to-face mock interviews of students to upskill them
and make them corporate ready. Online mode is what they had to pick.

2. Everything went online. Not just MBAtrek but MBA as well. Given this
change in routine, people started showing lesser interest in any kind of online
engagement. Offline is what they needed, desperately!

To defeat this Thanos, MBAtrek needed a team. A team that consisted of

students from multiple B-Schools, who were creative, who were disappointed
with the current system and wanted to bring a change, and who were just one
opportunity away to prove their skills and capabilities.

To defeat this Thanos, they needed Avengers like Peter - not just one!
The WHY of the story
Why did we tell you this story of Peter? Is it real or hypothetical? Don't you
connect with this dream of Peter? With his problems? Aspirations?

Obviously, not every one of you is Peter - not 100%. You all come from
different B-Schools, different educational and professional backgrounds, and
different future aspirations. You are all unique.

But then, there are few common things that you all share with Peter. Let's talk
about them.

1. You are all partially disappointed. You don't speak much about it but you
feel it. You are disappointed with how things should be done according to
you in/around your campus and how they are done in real. The "Brooo, MBA
karlo, life set hai" is so not true.

2. You want to grab that opportunity. There is an Anil Kapoor (or let's say the
character Shivaji Rao) hidden inside you that wants to bring a change. You
want to do something better and something more useful. You are creative and
you want to implement your creative ideas.

3. You are a visionary. You don't just want to stick to positions of

responsibilities, corporate competitions, live projects, campus ambassadors, and
academic curriculum. Yet, they are all very important and essential. But you
want to do something more. You want to create an impact and deliver a high-
value solution to people around you.

Can you do it?

If yes, will you do it?
How will you do it?
Will you continue to do it, whatever it takes?
Most importantly, who will give you the platform to do it?
Hello, Peter!
Peter wanted to impress the entire institute by doing something new and
awesome as 'One Day Director'. But he didn't know whom he should talk to.
Someone who could help him solve this problem. Desperate, he went to the
one and only Dr. Not so Strange.

Dr. Not so Strange listened to the entire scenario. He understood that what
Peter needed was an opportunity that could be given by an organization but
not in this universe. And this is what Dr. Not so Strange needed back. An
opportunity for himself to play with the time stone, cast the spell and
manipulate the space-time continuum. That is exactly what he did.

Little did Peter knew what would come next. The Sinister Six!

1. Activities - What are the activities Peter can do at his campus to help the
students develop skills that are admired by the corporates?

2. Courses - What are the courses Peter can build for the students at his
campus to upskill and improve the knowledge of students?

3. Assessments - What are the assessments Peter can develop to help the
students at his campus assess and improve themselves?

4. Workshops - What are the workshops Peter can arrange at his campus that
will help the students get corporate and industry insights?

5. Collaboration - How can Peter collaborate with someone to help the

students at his campus take advantage out of it?

6. Innovation - Can Peter think of something out of the box to help students
in/around his campus?

While Peter was wondering how to do all of this in this Multiverse, MBAtrek
emerged from the fog, looked into his eyes, smiled and said -
"Hello, Peter!".
What you need to Solve
You are Peter. With the help of MBAtrek, you need to create your two
months plan and present it to the BoGs (Board of Governors) as the 'One
Day Director'. The title of your presentation is - "How can I help the
students of my B-School upskill themselves with the help of MBAtrek."

Your solution should contain the following:

1. Sinister Six: Think of offline activities/events, offline/online workshops or

webinars, courses, assessments etc. that can help the students of your institute
to upskill themselves. You can either use MBAtrek's current portfolio (visit our
website HERE) or think of something new.

2. Strategic Roadmap: Once you have figured out what should be done, dive
deeper into each of them. From the resources needed to the impact created, we
would like to know every aspect of your master plan.

3. Assumptions: Clearly state all the assumptions that you would be making
in your way of designing the plan layout.

Your solution will be evaluated on the following:

1. Feasibility: Your solution should be feasible in terms of execution,

financials, strategic implementation etc. You can not talk about changing the
policies of your institute or hiring more faculty members.

2. Acceptability: As an MBAvenger, whatever you do should be accepted by

the entire student community. You cannot launch a 'Guerilla Marketing'
event all by yourself, Marketing Club does that for you and others. (You can
however think of collaboration ideas).

3. Details: Don't just talk about high-level solutions - things like one
workshop every weekend by MBAtrek, one free assessment every month, 25%
discount on MBAtrek products, etc. For whatever you think, talk about
5W1H - What, When, Why, Where, Who, How.
Submission Guidelines
1. Please upload your submission HERE before 31 Aug 2021, EOD.

2. You can submit your solution in either a PPT or a PDF format. Please limit
the size to not more than 5 MB.

3. The file should follow the naming convention - <CollegeName_Team

Name>. Example: NMIMSMumbai_PeterParker.

4. Only one submission per team will be accepted.

5. No submission post the deadline shall be considered.

6. Any team which fails to submit shall be considered disqualified from the
competition.
