Globalisation has increased the need (0) from us to speak a common language. One of the most
used languages is the English language. More and more people (1) is focusing on (2) enhanced
their English language skills as it will give them the necessary edge (3) on education and

LEANING TOWER OF PISA

Have you (0) hear of the Leaning Tower of Pisa? It is one of the marvels of the modern world. The
Leaning Tower of Pisa, (1) where is also known as the Tower of Pisa, is a freestanding bell tower of
the Cathedral of Pisa in Italy. It is one of the famous historical (2) landmark in Italy. Every year,
tourists (3) with all over the world visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Since its construction, the tower
has been an object of special attention. Although it was (4) designs to stand vertically, the tower
began to lean soon after (5) it’s construction in 1173. This was due to the poorly laid foundation
and loose soil. (6) On 1999, interventions were made to the soil to safeguard the tower and
reduce its inclination. By 2018, the tower had (7) straightens by 18 inches. However, experts say

ADVANTAGES OF SPORTS FOR STUDENTS

Sports play an important role in school and it is vital for (0) my parents to realise that we need to
take part in sports. Reading and writing alone is not enough to get (1) the complete education.
Sports such as badminton and football are necessary for a well-rounded (2) develop. The saying
'All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy' is a good example of how sports can brighten a
person's life. Playing sports is not a waste (3) in time as some people may think. Sports will (4)
makes us active and healthy. It will also help us to (5) relaxes after a hard day's work or after
studies. By playing sports, we are actually (6) exercises our bodies and relaxing our minds. After a
game, we feel refreshed mentally and thus will be able to (7) concentration better. In addition,
exercise promotes good blood circulation. It also gets rid of excess fat. Our bodies will be healthier
and less prone to illness. (8) School should place equal emphasis on studies as well as sports to
ensure that students are healthy both mentally and physically.

ADOPTING THE RECYCLING HABIT

In order to save the environment, we (0) needs to live by the slogan 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle'
as part of our daily routine. For example, when we go shopping, we need to think (1) careful
before making a purchase. Beside this, we should also carry a shopping bag (2) make of cloth to
hold all the items we buy so that we can cut down on the number of plastic bags we use. At
home, we can make a (3) consciousness effort to reduce waste and recycle whatever we can.
We could separate the rubbish into two (4) category. Kitchen waste could go into a dustbin with a
lid, while non-perishable items like glass bottles (5) but paper cartons that would be (6) send for
recycling could go into a box. The neighbourhood newspaper collectors are also a great help as
(7) he buy old newspapers for recycling. If everyone diligently recycles, we will be able to heal our
planet that (8) are being gradually destroyed by our actions.

WAYS TO EASE TRAFFIC CONGESTION

The mushrooming of shopping malls in Malaysia has (0) raise some concerns. Traffic congestion
similar to Monday morning traffic has become a norm at weekends. One solution (1) are to locate
future shopping malls in specially (2) choose areas outside the city. These should be further away
(3) of residential areas and also streets that have retail shops. When having designated areas for
shopping malls outside the city, city planners should always (4) ensures that there are efficient
public transport systems in place to enable people without access to private vehicles to be able
to travel there conveniently.
At the same time, with easy access (5) for public transport, people with cars may be encouraged
to hop onto a bus or train instead of driving. Special promotions could also be (6) give during
festive seasons when people shop the most. (7) A operating hours of the public transport services
could be extended during these times as well to make it (8) easy for people who would like to
stay late at the shopping malls to go home.
