Assignment#4
In today’s reality, energy consumption is quite a risk, it affects both developing and developed
countries. As a result, we get environmental degradation and, at the same time, climate change.
To reduce these risks, it is necessary to take decisions that reduce the excessive consumption of
energy. This essay focuses on different ways to solve this problem, which implies the need for
sustainable development.
One of the solutions to this problem is the use of energy-efficient technologies. Studies have
confirmed that by using LED lighting and smart grids, it is possible to save energy significantly.
They can save energy in various buildings and different transportation modes. However, the use
of these technologies is at the same time associated with high costs, and therefore their
effectiveness in this matter should be well studied.
Another solution to this problem is the use of renewable energy. By switching from fossil fuels
to clean energy sources such as hydropower, solar, or wind, they reduce greenhouse gas
emissions. Today, renewable energies are quite developed, which makes them more affordable.
However, the intermittent nature of some energies, such as wind or solar, requires the right
decisions to be made for a consistent energy supply.
The issue of economical consumption of energy is also related to the awareness of the
population. Citizens must change their behavior. They need to be more educated about energy
conservation and encouraging them in this regard can have a big impact. But changing people’s
behavior is a complex process that requires serious work.
To conclude, reducing energy consumption is vital for sustainable development. Changes can be
made through energy-efficient technologies, renewable energy, and public awareness. With
these strategies, effective changes can be made.
