Course Description:
The course will focus on Intellectual Property Rights. In this course, both the Intellectual Property laws of
Pakistan and their applications include copyright, patent, and trademark. This subject is very significant
about the law protects the work of creative individuals and businesses from unauthorized use or
exploitation by third parties. By utilizing Intellectual Property laws, creators and innovators can fully
protect and benefit from their creations. Intellectual Property Rights have relevant enactments such as:
Copyright Ordinance, 1962
Registered Designs Ordinance, 2000
Registered Layout-Designs of Integrated Circuits Ordinance, 2000
Patents Ordinance, 2000
Trademarks Ordinance, 2001
Merchandise Marks Act, 1889
The Trademarks (Invalidation and Summary Registration) Act, 1950
The Electronic Transactions Ordinance, 2002
Sections relating to infringement of Trade, Property, and Other Marks in the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860 10.

Course Objectives:
Learn about basic abstract data structures and implement them efficiently. Understand the importance of data
structures in developing and implementing efficient algorithms. Introduce commonly used sorting algorithms
and compare them based on computational efficiency and memory requirements

Grading Policy:
Assignment To develop a comprehensive understanding of the subject, assignments will be given.
Policy: Accepted/graded will not be accepted/graded. All assignments will count towards the total (No
‘best-of’ policy). The students are advised to do the assignment themselves. Copying of
assignments is highly discouraged and violations will be dealt with severely by referring any
occurrences to the disciplinary committee. The questions in the assignment are meant to be
challenging to give students confidence and extensive knowledge about the subject matter and
enable them to prepare for the exams.
Plagiarism: SEECS's main toward a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. While collaboration in this
course is highly encouraged, you must ensure that you do not claim other people’s work/ ideas
as your own. Plagiarism occurs when the words, ideas, assertions s, theories, figures, images,
and programming codes offered are presented as your work. You must cite and acknowledge all
sources of information in your assignments. Failing to comply with the SEECS plagiarism policy
will lead to strict penalties including zero marks in assignments and referral to the academic
coordination office for disciplinary action.
