Why are the competencies important?

Competencies are different to skills and experience. Competencies focus on behaviours, and in this case the specific
types of behaviours that are critical to the successful performance every role in the organisation.
Qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies are evaluated as part of recruitment, appraisals and promotion. So,
to succeed as individuals, teams and as a global organisation it’s crucial that we all have an awareness of the critical
behaviours that are expected of ourselves and each-other.

Developing Professional
