In exercise of the powers conferred by Sections 45, 46, 47 and 50 of the

Electricity Act, 2003 (Central Act, 36 of 2003) and all other powers hereinto enabling in

that behalf, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission hereby passes this order

on Non-tariff related Miscellaneous charges.

2. As all procedures relating to public notice, taking views of State Advisory Committee

and public hearing has been completed as part of the larger proceedings undertaken in the

Order in Tariff Order No.10 of 2022 dated 09.09.2022, current order deals with only

implementation of the CPI linked revision of charges, which was also approved in para 3.1 (5) of

the previous order by the Commission. Accordingly, the Commission adopts this methodology

for re-determination of Non-tariff related Miscellaneous charges for this ensuing FY 2023-24.

3. Though it was decided to adopt the escalation rate comparing with the April 2023 and

April 2022 for the revision of charges to take effect from 1st of July 2023, the Government of

Tamil Nadu has issued a policy directive vide Lr.No.4660/C2/2023 dt.30.06.2023, to compare

the General CPI Index of April 2023 with the index for the month of August 2022 for determining

the revision of charges. Thus, in consideration of the directive, the Commission revises the

prevailing tariff to the extent of such percentage as detailed below.

Thus, the rate of 2.18 % is applied on the existing Miscellaneous charges and re-determined as

in Table -1 to 25 of the Annexure. However, the inflation of tariff for the ensuing years shall be

based on formula stipulated under para 3.1 (5) of the Tariff Order No.10 of 2022 dated

09.09.2022.

4. This order shall take effect on and from the 01st day of July 2023. These Misc.

charges determined in this Order will be valid until issue of the next Order.
