NATURE OF INCIDENT: POISONING INCIDENT
STATUS OF THE CASE: Article 246. Any person who shall kill his father, mother, or child, whether legitimate or illegitimate, or any of his ascendants, or descendants, or his spouse, shall be guilty of parricide and shall be punished by the penalty of reclusion perpetua to death. ELEMENTS OF PARRICIDE ,INCIDENT: (1) A person is killed. (2) the deceased is killed by the accused. (3) the deceased is the father, mother, or child, whether legitimate or illegitimate, or a legitimate other ascendant or other descendant, or the legitimate spouse of the accused. SYNOPSIS OF THE CASE A poisoning incident occurred on February 5, 2024, around 11:30 A.M. in Brgy. 20 Pulangi, Bacarra, Ilocos Norte. Lokadia Agcaracar reported the incident to the police station. Initial investigation revealed that the victim was eating, when Jonel Rablador Galanza put a toxic beverage in the water of his son Michael Capalungan Galanza, causing him to poisoned due to an intended putting of toxic beverage. Michael Capalungan Galanza sustained a symptoms which include changes in consciousness, body temperature, heart rate, and breathing that cause him instantaneous death(DOS).Jonel Rablador Galanza was arrested and confessed to the incident, expressing remorse for his actions. STATUS OF THE CASE: Case was already referred to the Office of the Provincial Prosecution under NPS Docket no.I-01-INV-24B-0043. Suspect was committed at the Ilocos Norte Provincial Jail.
